Giants coach Brian Daboll announced rookie Tommy DeVito will start at QB again Sunday against Washington.

DeVito had one of the worst starts we will see in the NFL last week, failing to hit 100 yards passing on 3.2 yards per attempt with an aDOT of 6.0. He and the Giants offense have nowhere to go but up.

The Giants are signing QB Matt Barkley from the practice squad to the active roster, source said. No surprise. He’ll take Daniel Jones’ roster spot as Jones heads to Injured Reserve.

DeVito still looks like he'll be the short-term starter, but that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Barkley could end up with the job at some point this season.

The Giants signed QB Jacob Eason and RB Hassan Hall to the practice squad.

Normally a practice squad QB signing isn't always fantasy-worthy news, but considering DeVito and Barkley are the QBs ahead of Eason, who knows what could happen for the rest of the season.

An MRI confirmed the Giants’ fears: QB Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season, per coach Brian Daboll.

Taylor is currently on IR with a rib injury and will miss at least three more weeks. So, the Giants will go with either DeVito or Barkley, or, it's possible they start - or eventually start - another QB who is not yet on the team. DeVito is likely to get the start in Week 10 until the Giants can figure out this mess. DeVito wasn't impressive in his debut when Taylor went down, throwing for -1 yard on seven attempts. He did rush for a TD. DeVito did throw for 175 yards and a TD this past week after Jones went down, but added two INTs in the loss.

Duggan thinks if the Giants sign a vet QB, that would seemingly signal they’re expecting Jones to miss extended time. Jones is dealing with a neck injury and started trending in the wrong direction late last week, with the team saying he was more sore. We'll likely know more Wednesday when the injury report comes out, or if the Giants sign another QB before that.

The Bills chose not to elevate QB Matt Barkley from the practice squad, a sign that Josh Allen could start Sunday against the Vikings.

Allen did not practice this week with an elbow sprain but did some throwing on Friday and is able to grip the football. The Bills seem to feel comfortable enough with how Allen looks and them not elevating Barkley shows the Bills look like they’ll roll with Allen, considering the only other quarterback on their active roster is Case Keenum.

My understanding is Matt Barkley will get “meaningful snaps” per source. Starter Josh Allen is just 40 yards away from breaking the team’s single season passing record. Bills also following similar formula to last year’s week 17, when they rested key starters.

This does not bode well for Josh Allen's fantasy value this week as he'll most likely get pulled after breaking the team's single-season passing record. With just 40 yards to go, Allen is not a starter for seasonal or DFS in Week 17.

Sean McDermott said the majority of the Bills' players will practice and play this week but not all of them. Josh Allen will play.

Fairburn added that Barkley could see some time in the game at QB, but McDermott added not every player is going to play the same. McDermott said he feels it's the right thing to do for the team in this situation. The Bills are locked into the fifth seed.

The good news is Allen ran from the field to the locker room, trying to pump the crowd on the way. But, the Bills are at Tennessee in Week 5 then have a bye in Week 6. Off to a 3-1 start, it's possible the Bills hold out Allen until after the bye week when they take on Miami. Barkley would get the start if Allen isn't cleared by this week.

Coach McDermott: “Josh Allen will be a full participant at practice today. We’re still taking it one day at a time but we’re excited to have him back.”

It looks like Allen could be in line to play in Week 12, but the team hasn't made that official just yet. The Bills will host Jacksonville in an early game Sunday.
