Peoples-Jones is just 24 but one can argue moves to a team with a more crowded receiver room than the one he came from. DPJ was the Browns WR3 but hasn't had nearly the impact he had in 2022. It would be tough to see DPJ having that impact on the Lions, however, one can argue there isn't much consistency behind St. Brown. DPJ will at least bring some size to the Lions and could possibly carve out a role in the red zone. As far as Cleveland goes, it could mean the rookie Tillman or Goodwin eventually see more snaps as the team's WR3.

This is late in the week for clearance, which makes Ford's Week 8 fantasy aspirations shaky. The Browns backfield feels a lot like a stayaway in a slate with no Bye Weeks.

The Browns are signing former Seahawks WR Marquise Goodwin to a 1-year deal. After trading for Elijah Moore, Cleveland adds a second WR this week.

Marquise Goodwin has never been a consistent producer for fantasy purposes, but this instills more speed in the Cleveland wide receiver room. Goodwin saw more time with the Seahawks last year than he had since the 2018 season, so even at 32 years old, he can eat up some snaps and help to stretch the defense.

The Seahawks placed WR Marquise Goodwin (shoulder, wrist) on injured reserve Saturday.

Goodwin's season is effectively over unless the Seahawks make a run to the NFC Championship Game. That would be the earliest he could return. Goodwin worked as the No. 3 receiver with time as No. 2 due to injuries. With Tyler Lockett back, whoever Seattle's WR3 is, whether that's Laquon Treadwell or Penny Hart or Dareke Young, won't have much fantasy value, especially in a tough matchup against the Jets.

Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett underwent surgery on his hand Monday, coach Pete Carroll announced. Lockett could return as soon as Week 17.

Carroll called the surgery “perfect.”

Lockett broke his finger in last Thursday’s loss to the 49ers. He has 78 receptions for 964 yards and eight touchdowns this season. With Lockett out, Metcalf should be the top target with Goodwin likely stepping into the WR2 role and he may be worth a look if he's still on your wire.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett suffered a broken finger against the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll announced after the game, and there is uncertainty as to whether he'll be able to play again this season. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that Lockett suffered a spiral crack in his first metacarpal, an injury that will force him out for at least two games and indeed threatens the rest of his season, per a source.

It seems very unlikely that we will see Lockett again this season unless the Seahawks find their way into a playoff spot. One would assume that Marquise Goodwin will see more time on the field, but there is no 1v1 replacement for Lockett on the team, which could mean a target share increase for DK Metcalf.

DK Metcalf (hip) is good to play Sunday, Pete says. Same with Geno Smith. Both are good to go.

With both Metcalf and Lockett at full health, the narrow target tree should run through the two of them as normal. Each are WR2s with WR1 ceilings in Week 14.

Great news from Pete Carroll, who tells us DK Metcalf will not need surgery. He has a patellar tendon issue.

There's still no timeline, though other reports say that Carroll is pessimistic about Metcalf returning to practice this week, so it may be a week-to-week issue. D'Wayne Eskridge saw an uptick in snaps after Metcalf's departure but didn't receive a target in Week 7.

Goodwin provides veteran depth but is a longshot to make the team, let alone contribute.
