IDP Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 10

Thankfully it was a quiet week when it came to injuries. For Week 10, we have some big boys on byes as we'll be without Foyesade Oluokun, Deion Jones, Jaylon Smith, Aldon Smith, Demarcus Lawrence, and Keanu Neal - just to name a few.

As we look ahead to Week 10, here are the IDPs I'm suggesting to target on your waiver wire this week.

Linebacker

Cole Holcomb, LB, Washington Football Team

Holcomb saw a huge bump in usage coming out of the bye. Holcomb ended up playing in 90% of the snaps alongside Jon Bostic. I do know, one of the last impressions before the bye week, was Holcomb destroying Ezekiel Elliott on a block on his way to Andy Dalton. He's not afraid to mix it up, he's almost like a rugby player getting in the middle of a scrum and wiggles his way through. He's quick to react to what's around him. Holcomb has no problem lining up in the gap, and when he sees a hole in the gap, he punches through it. Holcomb finished with seven tackles, resulting in a 10.1% tackle rate in Week 9. If this usage continues, he has LB3 upside for the remainder of the year.

AJ Klein, LB, Buffalo Bills

Klein seems to have taken the three-down role opposite Tremaine Edmunds by the throat. Matt Milano continues to be hampered by a pectoral injury and was placed on IR. Klein has a clear path to snaps and potential production over the next several weeks. He finished with two sacks in Week 9. His first, he bullied through Alex Collins and tripped up Russell Wilson. On his second, he came off the edge unblocked and forced a fumble off the sack. He's a solid tackler and will limit big plays, but he'll also make some big plays when called upon. Klein has produced 12 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games.

Christian Kirksey, LB, Green Bay Packers

If your league has limited IR spots, Kirksey might have been dropped. I know I've had to make some tough decisions this season in regards to injuries and IR spots. He was activated off IR on October 28, so he's well into his 21-day window to be elevated to the 53-man roster. He practiced last week, so it's a good sign that he appears ready to go. With all of the fluctuation at LB - between injuries and COVID - it would be nice to get some stability, although Kirksey's injury history has me using that term loosely. At least, when Kirskey is active, you know he's not leaving the field. Kirksey has played in just 112 snaps, but in two full games, he notched 24 tackles. There's no denying he's productive when healthy. Can Green Bay cloak him in bubble wrap, please?

Malik Harrison, LB, Baltimore Ravens

This might be more of a long-term add as opposed to redraft. I've seen a lot of dynasty owners being impatient with rookies this season, so there's a possibility Harrison is available. Through seven games, Harrison had seen a usage rate of around 18% of the snaps. In Week 9, he saw a bump to 49%. Now, of his 11 tackles, five were from special teams. When on defense, he registered an 18.1% tackle rate over his 33 snaps. He's a quick, downhill runner who can get to the ball quickly. Harrison will also be worth picking up in deeper leagues in the hopes his role in the defense increases.

Markus Golden, LB/EDGE, Arizona Cardinals

It didn't take long for Golden to make an impact with his new-old team. The returning edge rusher was on the field for 34 snaps, including 17 pass-rush snaps. In the stat-sheet, it says just one sack, but Golden had another negated by a penalty. Golden finished with five tackles and produced an additional QB hit against Miami. Golden is a big-play specialist and has generated a 12.4% pressure rate between the Giants and now Cardinals.
