Giants wideout Odell Beckham left Monday night's game after taking a hard shot directly to his left knee, but did not sustain any serious injuries.

The team's top offensive weapon was drilled by Browns corner Briean Boddy-Calhoun as he came down from nabbing a high pass in the second quarter. Beckham spun his helmet in frustration but walked off the field under his own power. After trotting into the tunnel en route to the locker room, a television camera caught Beckham on his knees rocking back and forth in pain.

ESPN reported during the broadcast that Beckham was being evaluated for both a concussion and an ankle injury, but that Beckham was cleared of any concussion symptoms.

The Giants said officially that Beckham sustained a sprained ankle. X-ray results came back negative and the team says that Beckham will undergo further examination.

In other news, Brandon Marshall underwent an X-ray on his shoulder.

The Giants will probably put Beckham on ice for the remainder of the preseason, though we should have an idea of how his ankle is progressing based on his practice participation. Given Marshall's apparent shoulder injury, Sterling Shepard might deserve to be bumped up a few spots in the receiver rankings.

Sterling Shepard was looked at on sideline. He's in serious pain. Taken off on cart. Apparently in tears. Not good.

Update: Mike Garafolo tweeted, "Early for Giants WR Sterling Shepard but the team is hopeful it's just a bad roll of his ankle. Stay tuned."

Shepard is slated for WR3 duties behind Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall, but his season may be in jeopardy based on this report. We'll have more details as they emerge. Roger Lewis played the most snaps (24%) of the remaining Giant receivers last year.

The Giants reported for training camp on Thursday and they did so without any drama involving their star wide receiver.

Odell Beckham Jr. quietly arrived at the team facility on Thursday morning. Giants coach Ben McAdoo said the entire 90-man roster reported for camp.

Beckham was expected to report after attending the Giants' three-day mandatory minicamp in June. But with speculation still lingering about Beckham's dissatisfaction with his contract, there was a remote chance that he could hold-out of training camp. Beckham undoubtedly wants an extension as he prepares to earn $1.8 million in the final year of his rookie deal. The Giants exercised Beckham's $8.4 million fifth-year option for the 2018 season, the story all said.

Quarterback Eli Manning has organized workouts with his receivers at Duke University, which employs his coach at Ole Miss David Cutcliffe as their head coach, for the last few years. WR Odell Beckham told Newsday on Monday night that he won’t be there because he’s having oral surgery.

Beckham said that he expects to be good to go for the start of the Giants’ offseason program in a couple of weeks.

Beckham’s absence will leave Manning with more time to work with Brandon Marshall, who is the newest addition to the receiving corps after signing with the Giants last month following his release by the Jets.

Giants stars will at least dress today. They could very well see a drive or two and then get pulled as this game doesn't mean much to the Giants. As a result, their players are risky fantasy plays.

Giants HC Ben McAdoo did not express concern about wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who appeared to injure his hand on Sunday.

"He may have caught a finger in the turf, stubbed it a little bit," McAdoo said. "I'm not 100 percent certain."

Looks like Beckham will be good to go for Week 12.

He ended up playing in the Giants' 17-10 win, and he was productive. But it was clear Giants WR Odell Beckham was far from 100 percent, and hurting from start to finish as his hip pointer lingered.

"It took a lot to get ready for this game," Beckham admitted after the fact, adding he did not feel he was as fast as usual. "It was all mental preparation, actually. Even going through warmups, I didn't quite known what to expect. I got out there, and it was a little ... it was pretty painful. {Co-owner John] Mara and [general manager Jerry] Reese and coach (Ben McAdoo) gave me an opportunity to play."

Beckham said he and the Giants came up with a "plan" to manage his workload given his limitations, and it was made clear he could come off the field if need be. Beckham did not play every offensive snap, but he still played 95 percent of them, his 54 snaps leading the receivers group. Beckham admitted there was a "seed of doubt" whether or not he'd be able to even play. The team has a bye in Week 8 and hopefully Beckham will be close to normal for Week 9.
