Rapoport: Danny Amendola 'almost certain' to miss Week 2

Patriots WR Danny Amendola, who turned in a gutty 104-yard performance in the opener, is almost certain to miss the Jets game, source says.

Fantasy Impact:

Because of the short week, the Patriots aren't practicing in pads this week in preparation for their Thursday night game against the Jets. Amendola wasn't seen at Tuesday's walkthrough, which becomes vital for the installation of the game plan. If Amendola, or any player, doesn't participate to at least observe, it's hard to imagine him playing in the actual game, and that now seems to be the case. Julian Edelman is definitely a guy to grab at this point. Kenbrell Thompkins should also see a lift in production. The Pats are hurting with no Shane Vereen or Amendola for Week 2 in the passing game. RB Stevan Ridley could find himself with a big workload as well. Also keep in mind, the team has not officially ruled him out yet. However, there have been other reports now saying that Amendola's status beyond Week 2 is in doubt.
