The Rams are optimistic Stafford will be able to play in Week 11, after the team's Week 10 bye, so this move seems to be more about insurance. Rypien threw for just 130 yards and added an interception in a loss to the Packers last week. Wentz should at least provide some stability at the position if Stafford has to miss more time. Wentz should be able to get up to speed during the team's bye this week.

It will likely come down to how Stafford is able to grip the ball and perhaps any pain that may be involved. Stafford is as tough as they come, so it may be an issue of how much zip he can put on the ball. If he can't go, Rypien would get the start. The Rams do play an early game at Green Bay in Week 9, but the team does have a Week 10 bye.

The Rams had not just one, but two receivers with more than 100 receiving yards on Sunday. Tutu Atwell set career highs with six catches for 119 yards, and rookie fifth-round pick Puka Nacua’s 10 catches for 119 yards were the most receiving yards in a rookie debut in team history.

And although fourth-year receiver Van Jefferson finished with just four catches for 24 yards, McVay said after the game that the receiver “is going to continue to be a big part of this as well.” Unlike last season when Jefferson was out with a knee injury, where defenses knew Kupp was Stafford’s most likely target, the Rams had multiple successful options.

Atwell and Nacua will likely be waiver wire targets this week in your league, and along with Jefferson, are certainly worth looks if you're in need at the WR position.

With Kupp out of action for at least three more weeks, Atwell and Nacua could continue to get targets and touches.
