It was a good run for Cooper Rush, but Prescott provides much more fantasy upside as a quarterback, as well as for his pass catchers. This aligns well with Michael Gallup, who has been seeing an uptick in usage since returning from injury, including a season-high 76.1% snap share in Week 6. He becomes a WR2/3 with Dak, while CeeDee Lamb is instantly bolstered into top-five WR territory.

Mike McCarthy said all systems are on track for Dak Prescott, who has been medically cleared.

Hill's tweet went on to say Prescott will participate in the mock game Wednesday and then throw to the receivers after the practice. The plan is for him to go through a full practice on Thursday.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is hopeful Dak Prescott will be able to return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Detroit Lions after missing five games with a fractured right thumb.

"Well, let's just say this: He's determined to [play]," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "I think he's, from my perspective, from what I can know and see, I think he's going to get there. We feel like that physically, he's at a position that the risk/reward justifies him being out there in terms of any reoccurrence of the injury."

According to the story, Jones said Prescott had a "very impressive" throwing session before Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. After the game, Prescott said it was his plan to play against the Lions. On Monday, coach Mike McCarthy said Prescott would be cleared medically by Tuesday and would return to practice Wednesday.

It appears Dak Prescott participated in his first Cowboys practice since fracturing his right thumb in Week 1. He is listed as limited, as are Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence. Both defensive players say they will play. Cooper Rush still preparing to start vs. the Eagles.

It looks like the team is going to rest Prescott for at least one more week, and it may be prudent, considering the brutal matchup they have on Sunday night. With Dalton Schultz nursing a knee injury, CeeDee Lamb and Ezekiel Elliot may be Dallas's only worthwhile fantasy pieces this week.

The tweet went on to say Prescott said he plans to throw more on Thursday. “Solid. Ask the receivers,” he smiled when asked how it went. “I always got some pop on my (passes).” Reports said the Cowboys are preparing to start Rush on Sunday night against the Eagles but keep an eye on how Prescott progresses over the next few days. Counting on Prescott for a Sunday night will be risky without a backup plan.

Prescott remains in the medical and rehab phase. Patrik Walker reported Prescott will start in rehab on Wednesday then on to "QB School," and is expected to start light throwing before the end of practice to receivers, according to McCarthy. Looks like Rush will start a key, Week 6 game on Sunday night against the Eagles.

Dak Prescott could get the thumbs up for Week 6, but only if he passes the spin test.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday the doubt around Prescott is whether he has enough hand and grip strength in his right thumb to spin the ball with the velocity needed to throw passes on target.

If he can, Jones and the Cowboys should get Prescott back in the lineup Sunday with the NFC East lead on the line against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (5-0). If he can't go it will again be Rush who has filled in well whenever called upon. Keep in mind this is the late game on Sunday night.
