The Broncos are placing QB Joe Flacco on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his season.

After initially hearing a timetable of 4-6 weeks, the Broncos are going to just let Flacco rest for the remainder of the season. His 2019 campaign is over. Brandon Allen will be the starter with Brett Rypien being called up from the practice squad to be Allen's backup. For fantasy purposes, it is not pretty in Denver now that Emmanuel Sanders is in San Francisco. Courtland Sutton is still around and perhaps we can see DaeSean Hamilton take the step forward that we hoped he would before the season started. But everyone takes a step back with the change in quarterback play, at least until we get a better feel for what Allen brings to the Broncos offense.

Good news for Flacco not needing surgery, as that would have likely ended his season. That puts Flacco in line to return as early as Week 13. But even with that potential return, he can safely be dropped in fantasy leagues. And Brandon Allen can at least have an eye kept on him but you can wait on him. He’s quite low on the totem pole in fantasy for the moment.

The Broncos are going to be without quarterback Joe Flacco for several more weeks (5-6), and he’s getting checked to see how many.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Flacco is getting a second opinion from Dr. Jack Kelley today on the herniated disc in his neck.

Allen is expected to start this week but many think it will be Lock who eventually takes over, especially of Flacco is looking at missing several weeks. The team will also need to decide if keeping a roster spot open for Flacco is worth it. Flacco doesn't need surgery and the injury isn't career-threatening.

Just a day after he passionately criticized the team's coaching staff for overly-conservative decision-making, the Denver Broncos announced that quarterback Joe Flacco will be out for the team's Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns. According to multiple reports, Flacco has a herniated disc in his neck and will be re-evaluated during the bye week, at which point it is possible that he could be placed on injured reserve.

Freeman's shoulder injury isn't supposed to be serious according to reports but with the struggles this season there is no reason to rush him back.

Heuerman is dealing with a knee injury which could open the door for Fant. As TE is always a position that's a struggle at some point during the fantasy season, this is certainly news to pay attention to.
