Adam Thielen “very happy” with progress from hamstring injury, could return Sunday

Vikings WR Adam Thielen is reportedly “very happy” with the progress he has made in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could return to the lineup Sunday against the Chargers.

Fantasy Impact:

Thielen has been limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday , but Thielen said Thursday’s practice “was a win for me”. He also said “we’ll see how Friday goes for me”, but this is the most optimistic Thielen has been since the injury. And just in time for a fantasy championship run.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Thielen is expected to return this week. We typically advise waiting a week before using a player that has had such a long layoff, but Thielen can be dispatched as a fantasy WR3 in most formats.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is expected to be back in the lineup Sunday against the Chargers, barring a setback.

Fantasy Impact:

It would be Thielen’s first game since Week 9 when he left early against the Chiefs. Thielen has been getting closer but wasn’t quite ready enough to play in a game. Fortunately he now seems ready to play and if you made it this far without Thielen, you have to feel good about him coming back and likely getting right back involved in the offense, even against the Chargers secondary. Monitor his practice this week, but he looks ready to go.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Lions.

Fantasy Impact:

That short return back in Week 9 has really cost Thielen, as he’s set to miss yet another game after suffering the hamstring injury very early in that game against the Chiefs. The offense shouldn’t have much of an issue Sunday however against a Lions defense that has crumbled before our eyes. Kirk Cousins should have a solid game, especially considering it’s against a bad team.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 14. We don't expect Thielen to play this week. Kyle Rudolph seems to get the biggest bump when Thielen is out since Stefon Diggs will have his hands full with Darius Slay.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) missed practice again Thursday. HC Mike Zimmer is not ruling Thielen out, but back-to-back DNPs indicate that he won't play. Thankfully, the Vikings play early on Sunday.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday. Theilen's week is not off to a good start. For now, we're assuming he's out until we hear differently. Thankfully, the Vikings play early on Sunday.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday while RB Dalvin Cook (chest) was limited.

Fantasy Impact:

The hamstring continues to bother Thielen and unless something changes soon, he may not be available again when the Vikings face the Lions on Sunday. Cook being limited is a good sign. He felt good about his chances of getting back on the field rather quickly after Monday's game against the Seahawks, so it's good to see he's already back on the practice field, even if it's just in a limited capacity for now, as the team might just be easing him through the week before Sunday.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) took limited practice reps again Friday. Thielen said that he wouldn't play unless he was 100% healthy, so we're skeptical that he'll suit up on Sunday night. Even if he does, it seems unlikely that he sees a full complement of snaps.
