Titans QB Jake Locker was taken to Saint Thomas Hospital by ambulance after suffering a right hip injury in the third quarter of a 38-13 win over the New York Jets at LP Field.
Locker took a hit from Jets defensive linemen Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples, immediately grabbed his right hip and medical staff rushed to the field.
After examination in the locker room, he was taken to the hospital, but coach Mike Munchak said it was for further evaluation, not emergency surgery.
There was no immediate update on Locker's condition, Munchak said, but it did not appear that the quarterback's hip "popped out" on the field.
The team is preparing to start QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the coming weeks, according to beat writer Jim Wyatt. Monday morning reports say the team doesn't feel the hip injury is season ending, but Locker may miss 4-8 weeks. Ian Rapoport tweeted that it's possible he goes on IR/destined to return, which would keep him out until Week 13.
