Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) did not practice Wednesday. Nick Foles is expected to start again this week. He put up a measly 9.3 fantasy points last week against the Rams, but he returns home to face a Texans defense that is tough to run on but vulnerable against the pass, yielding 253/2 to Sam Darnold, 399/2 to Andrew Luck, 397/1 to Baker Mayfield and 303/2 to Marcus Mariota in recent weeks.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota (foot) practiced fully Wednesday. Mariota has averaged 17.3 fantasy points in five home games, and his two bad games came against Baltimore and Jacksonville, two of the tougher defenses in the league. Washington is coming off of a good showing against the Jaguars, but that was against Cody Kessler. In the three previous games, Washington yielded 197/3 to Eli Manning, 306/2 to Carson Wentz and 289/2 to Dak Prescott.

Doug Pederson tells reporters Nick Foles will start vs. the Texans, but Carson Wentz isn't going on IR.

Fantasy Impact:

The Eagles are still alive for a playoff berth so that's perhaps the reason Wentz won't go to IR. But reports say Wentz will need three months of rest so it's hard to believe the team would throw him back in the fire. Foles hasn't been has good as his magical playoff run last year, and despite a win over the Rams this week, he didn't throw a TD pass. Foles gets the Texans in Week 16.

The Eagles haven't made a firm decision about Carson Wentz going forward, but his recovery is expected to take three months.

Fantasy Impact:

Rapoport believes the team will stick with Foles at QB rather than risking Wentz's future. Wentz's injury won't affect him long term, but the team also won't put him out there with the chance the injury could get worse. Foles led the Eagles to a win over the Rams with 270 yards but did not throw a TD. If he does start, Foles gets a tough Houston defense at home in Week 16 before closing at Washington Week 17.

Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back, doubtful) missed practice all week and is doubtful for Week 15. Wentz is not expected to face the Rams. Nick Foles’s productivity has been all over the place in eight starts since 2017, including the playoffs. He was obviously great in last year’s postseason, but in two starts this year, he had a bad game against Atlanta (117 passing yards, one interception) before a pretty productive game against the Buccaneers (334 yards and a touchdown). In the seven starts where he attempted at least 30 passes, he averaged 260 yards and 1.71 touchdowns against just 0.43 interceptions, but owners are warned against expecting too much in a tough spot against a surging Rams defense. Still, if he can avoid a multi-interception meltdown, he could have a big fantasy day in garbage time.

Nick Foles’s productivity has been all over the place in eight starts since 2017, including the playoffs. He was obviously great in last year’s postseason, but in two starts this year, he had a bad game against Atlanta (117 passing yards, one interception) before a pretty productive game against the Buccaneers (334 yards and a touchdown). ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, "A recent CT scan on Carson Wentz’s back revealed a fractured vertebrae that, if allowed time to rest, would fully heal without further expected issues, sources tell ESPN. There will be a continued evaluation to determine if continuing to play this year will make injury worse."

Fantasy Impact:

We already knew Wentz was going to miss time, but this seems to confirm the injury is more than just a simple pull or sprain. As long as Wentz is out, the entire offense save for Zach Ertz takes a big hit.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, "Carson Wentz, dealing with a back issue, is not expected to play this week, sources say. Depending on the result, given the time of year, Wentz may not play again in 2018. The team is still gathering info on his health."

Fantasy Impact:

The timing couldn't be worse for fantasy owners. With Nick Foles a poor option, you could look to Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen or even Derek Carr as options. Give our Streaming Quarterbacks and Waiver Wire Watch articles a read for other potential options that may be available in your league.

As far as the Eagles receivers go, aside from Zach Ertz, nobody has been particularly compelling of late anyway, so this doesn't change much on that front. Golden Tate and Alshon Jeffery remain in the low-end WR2/WR3 discussion and Ertz, who saw 23 targets and averaged 15.1 PPR points with Foles as the starter the first two weeks of the season, stays as a top option at tight end.
