Lions Trying to Hold Off Eagles for No. 1
The Lions are 12-1 and the top seed but they will have a tough road ahead to keep that spot over the Eagles and Vikings who are both 11-2. The Lions play the Bills (10-3) this week and they get the Vikings in week 18. That game could be deciding between who gets the top seed in the playoffs and who falls to the number 5 seed and plays on the road in the Wild Card round. The Eagles have matchups with the Steelers this week and then the Commanders which will be tough games.
Chiefs Being Chased by Bills for Top Seed
In the AFC, the Chiefs (12-1) have clinched the AFC West division but they want the top seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs plus a first-round bye. They don't hold the tiebreaker of the Bills, but they have a two-game lead for that top spot and the Bills have to face the Lions this week. The Steelers are close by too but they have a huge matchup with the Eagles this week and then they still have to play the Ravens in what could be a game to decide the division.
Packers-Seahawks Matchup Could Be Tiebreaker
Sunday Night Football this week is the Packers (9-4) vs the Seahawks (8-5) in a game that could have major implications for the playoffs. The winner will hold the head-to-head tiebreaker in a potential battle for those final two playoff spots as the Packers (9-4), Commanders (8-5), Seahawks (8-5), and Rams (8-6) all fight down the stretch.
Colts and Broncos Matchup Could Impact Wild Card
The Broncos (8-5) hold that last spot in the AFC but they face the Colts (6-7) this week and a loss helps not only the Colts with the tiebreaker but keeps teams like the Dolphins (6-7) and Bengals (5-8) alive for that final playoff spot. The Bengals are in a rough position as it looks like it's going to take 10 wins to get that final playoff spot and Cincinnati can only win out and finish with 9. They will need help from the Colts this week to keep their playoff hopes alive.
