IDP Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 13

We are entering Week 13 and I hope everyone was able to enjoy their Thanksgiving.

Week 12 was, well, it was interesting, to say the least. It shows that depth is going to be important as we head down the final weeks of the regular season and into the fantasy playoffs. We may also need to shed conventional wisdom and look to some deeper plays for depth in the event players are going on the COVID list.

There are still some names available who you can add to your roster that could have an impact. As we look ahead to Week 13, here are the IDPs I'm suggesting to target on your waiver wire this week.

Linebacker

Troy Reeder, LB, Los Angeles Rams

Micah Kiser was placed on IR on Thanksgiving, so it looks like he's going to miss the next few weeks. Snaps have opened up and it looks like Troy Reeder is going to be the guy for the Rams on the inside. In Week 12, Reeder appeared in all but three snaps against the 49ers and he made the most of them. Reeder was all over the field. He hit gaps and he put in the effort to limit yards after the catch in coverage. Reeder made two solid tackles in consecutive plays, limiting the offense to no yardage. He didn't quit on plays either, chasing down the ball carrier multiple times. Reeder finished with 15 tackles and a 21.7% tackle rate. With Kiser missing the next few weeks, Reeder could be a potential league winner.

AJ Klein, LB, Buffalo Bills

Klein has been all over the field for Buffalo's defense the last few weeks. He has sacks in three straight games and two defended passes in two of his last three. Klein has notched 25 tackles (20 solos) in the last two weeks, including five for a loss. Klein still has some holes in his game which causes him to be out of position, but he doesn't quit. He'll disrupt plays and isn't afraid to get his nose into the mix. He mixes it up with opposing tight ends and hits the gaps against opposing interior linemen. Klein and Jerry Hughes shared a sack, where Klein just side-stepped Troymaine Pope. Klein's solo sack resulted in a 10-yard loss - he just shot the gap unblocked. Klein finished with a 16.9% tackle rate, resulting in 14 tackles. He's producing an 11.6% tackle rate this season and looks to be a solid LB2 for the remainder of the year.

Anthony Walker, LB, Indianapolis Colts

We're getting to the point of the season where injuries are taking a toll. It hit the Colts with Bobby Okereke as he missed this week with an ankle injury. Walker had been losing snaps to Okereke this season, but when he or Darius Leonard have been off the field, he's been on the field for 100% of the snaps. That was the case against the Titans, as he was on the field for 100% of the snaps and while he didn't have the spectacular performance Leonard had, he contributed six tackles. In games where Walker is on the field for more than 85% of the snaps, he's averaging nearly eight tackles a game, resulting in a 12.1% tackle rate. Keep an eye on Okereke's status this week, but if he's out again, plug Walker in as an LB3.

Rahsaan Evans, LB, Tennesee Titans

I mentioned Evans last week, but it looks like he's going to be the LB in Tennessee to get consistent playing time. Over the last three weeks, Evans has been on the field for 86% of the snaps, and although he doesn't have a high tackle ceiling, he provides a safer floor. David Long and Will Compton appear to be rotating snaps on the inside opposite Evans and are sharing the play-calling responsibilities. Although Evans is coming off the field in certain packages, his usage is up near 80% in 2020. The Browns are up next, so I think they continue to pound the rock with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Evans is producing an 11% tackle rate this season, so a ceiling game could be coming this week.
