Ryan Noonan's 2023 Fantasy Football Rankings (Half-PPR)
I'm one of many analysts who competes in the long-running season-long and weekly rankings competitions on FantasyPros. In fact, 247 analysts competed in last year's preseason "Draft" rankings, designed the help fantasy footballers like yourself as you head into your draft day with the hopes of taking your friends and family's money (and/or pride). I compete in the rankings competition for the same reason you play fantasy; I like to compete, and I like to win.
Over the past four seasons, I've finished no worse than 21st in the preseason "Draft" rankings competition. FantasyPros tracks multi-year accuracy as well as year-to-year results, and I finished fourth out of 133 rankers over the past three seasons. I would've finished among the top three, but I wanted to stay on brand as a 4for4 guy. I've done particularly well with wide receivers, finishing as the most accurate wide receiver ranker in the competition over the three-year time frame. A lot of folks have since asked for the rankings, noting that they haven't previously been on the site. Well, that ends today.
FantasyPros does the work on the backend to determine the methodology, and you can learn more about that here. The competitors are judged on half-point PPR positional rankings only. Not overall rankings, full PPR, or any other iteration of fantasy. They're best used as positional rankings more so than overall rankings since that's my focus when compiling the list. FantasyPros generates an "Overall" ranking based on its own algorithm, but once you get past the top 50 or 60, I'd advise anyone using this list to hone in on the positional rankings over anything in the "Overall" tab.
Editor's Note: The rankings presented in this article are the expert insights and draft recommendations of Ryan Noonan, and are specific to half-PPR formats. It's important to note these are not the official 4for4 Fantasy Football Rankings and projections of John Paulsen. If you're seeking a more tailored experience, we recommend utilizing Paulsen's projections for customized rankings.
