There is a great deal of concern about the progress of Peyton Manning's healing. It appears to be going far more slowly than the Colts or Manning are saying publicly.
The Colts have been preparing for the worst. When Kerry Collins was signed some on the coaching staff always thought Collins would replace Manning for a game or two.
After speaking to a source on the Colts the team didn't believe Manning would get another surgery. There was, however, a serious concern that Manning was not only going to miss the season opener but the potential was for Manning to miss four or five games. Or more.
This situation remains very fluid, but there have been numerous reports indicating Manning's status for at least week one is very iffy. Barring a stunning reversal of fortune, fantasy owners need to seek other options.
