Calvin Johnson is starting to look like himself again, and this Sunday he should be in a more familiar role when the Lions host the Cincinnati Bengals at Ford Field.
Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said the All-Pro receiver appears ready for a more prominent place in the gameplan.
“I would think so,” Linehan said. “It’s not an overnight thing to get back to 100%, but he’s working very hard to get there, so I don’t see why there’s any reason he wouldn’t be able to have a few more (plays) this week. But it has everything to do with how the game goes.”
Last week, Johnson said he had trouble getting in rhythm when he was shuttled on and off the field.
Being less limited doesn't necessarily return Johnson to high-end WR1 status. We'll continue to monitor his practice activity and the workload predictions out of Detroit before finalizing our rankings on Sunday morning. At this point, he's looking like a low-end WR1 start in a bad matchup with the Bengals.
