Second-year wide receiver Devin Thomas replaced Malcolm Kelly in the starting lineup, his second start of the season. Thomas was the target on one of quarterback Jason Campbell's deep balls in the first quarter, a first-down play from Washington's 29. Thomas made a diving catch that might have gained 50 yards, but he was out of bounds.
"It was a shot we took," Thomas said. "We tried to take shots this game. For some reason, we can't link up."
Thomas finished without a catch, and he got the ball on a reverse that gained just two yards. Kelly played sparingly and also didn't have a catch. Six games into their second season in the NFL, the two have combined for 11 catches for 99 yards and no touchdowns this season.
