Bears QB Mitch Trubisky (right shoulder, doubtful) did not practice Wednesday. Chase Daniel is expected to start for the Bears. He should post serviceable numbers against one of the worst pass defenses in the league.

As of right now, plenty of signs are pointing toward a Chase Daniel start on Thanksgiving day.

Fantasy Impact: 

Opinions seem to be all over the place about Trubisky's status. The Bears will have a walk-through Wednesday before their flight to Detroit. But, Trubisky didn't practice Tuesday because of his shoulder. With Daniel possibly under center, it could mean the Bears turn to more of a rushing attack and it's a downgrade for the passing game.

The Bears defeat of the Minnesota Vikings produced two dominant story lines: that the Chicago defense is quite possibly even better than early indications, and that Mitchell Trubisky has a throwing-shoulder issue, severity unknown.

With the 2018 playoffs within reach, those two narratives are closely connected.

The injury could leave fantasy owners scrambling on a short week if they planned to start Trubisky as the Bears play on Thursday afternoon at Detroit. Daniel would get the start if Trubisky can't play and it's likely the team relies on defense and perhaps the ground game this week.

While this signing doesn't move the needles, the Chicago Bears adding Chase Daniel to their quarterback room signals the end of the Mike Glennon era in Chicago.

Fantasy Impact: 

Glennon plans to sign with Arizona upon his release, freeing up the No. 2 QB spot in Chicago behind Mitch Trubisky. The Bears will be the 31-year-old vet's fourth team since entering the league in 2009. Based on the situation and the talent on offense, he would make for an intriguing QB2 in 2QB or superflex leagues if Mitch Trubisky were to miss any time.
