Scouting report

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
2023 was a lost season for Cooper Kupp as he missed the first four games due to an injury suffered in training camp. When he returned he put up two big weeks before falling off again with an injury. From all accounts in training camp, he seems to be healthy again this year and his ADP reflects that. Going off the board 39th overall in the spring, his ADP has risen to 27th overall today.

Fantasy Downside
A 31-year-old coming off two injury-riddled seasons isn't exactly a recipe for a league-winner in fantasy. The injuries linger a little longer and the competition is stiffer this year with Nacua and the emergence of Demarcus Robinson as a true No. 3 receiver down the stretch last year. He also saw a decline in his yards per route run (down to 2.1 from 3.4 in 2021) for a second consecutive year.

2024 Bottom Line
The bottom line for Kupp is that his ADP is rising and is getting into a tougher spot to draft. That said, he may not be the alpha of 2019-2021, but he's still a potential mid-end WR2 going in about that range at WR18. The injury history is a bit scary, but we really shouldn't be projecting injuries. He's still a buy as WR18, but if he starts creeping up towards WR12, it would be more of a fade.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Giants

Cooper Kupp is our WR15 this week. He has been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the past month. Kupp had a nice two-game stretch where he combined for 16 receptions, 226 yards and two touchdowns sandwiched between two games where he only managed 12 total catches for 91 yards.

He's still seeing volume and is impossible to bench but he's become a bit more touchdown reliant than we'd like to see.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. New Orleans Saints

Cooper Kupp looked like...Cooper Kupp again last week. This is two weeks in a row where he seems to have a gotten a little bit of his mojo back. Kupp converted all eight of his targets and turned them into 111 yards and a score.

Kupp is our WR11 this week putting him firmly in the WR1 tier. It was hard to bench Kupp when he was playing poorly, but we're certainly not considering leaving him off of our lineups this weekend given his recent play.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Washington Commanders

Cooper Kupp finally looked like Cooper Kupp again last week. A double-digit target day with a 34-yarder thrown in was just what the doctor ordered for his fantasy managers. He finished the day with 114 receiving yards and one trip to the end zone.

He's back up to WR6 on the week thanks to his production last week. That makes him a must-start in a game that looks like it has plenty of potential for fantasy fireworks.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Baltimore Ravens

Cooper Kupp saw a usage bump in Week 13 but it didn't amount to much. He's been uncharacteristically inefficient over the past seven weeks. Kupp hasn't cracked 50 receiving yards since October 15th. He found the end zone, luckily, to save his day but this isn't the same Kupp we've grown accustomed to seeing week in and week out.

At WR29, he's a WR3. You should have him in your lineup but expectations should be tempered.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Cleveland Browns

Cooper Kupp is projected out as our WR18 this week. He has logged full practices this week and appears to have kicked any nagging injuries. Kupp hasn't looked like himself lately. He's in the midst of one of the worst five-week stretches of his career and has only seen 13 targets in the past three weeks.

We're used to double-digit targets and 100+ yard games from Kupp. His managers would like to see a return to form sooner than later. He should be in your lineup this weekend, but we're hoping to see a bit more from him.

LAR WR Cooper Kupp - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Arizona Cardinals

Cooper Kupp is "day-to-day" with a lateral ankle sprain but could potentially suit up on Sunday. If he's active, he's a must-start, but watch the injury status carefully.
