Fantasy Upside
2023 was a lost season for Cooper Kupp as he missed the first four games due to an injury suffered in training camp. When he returned he put up two big weeks before falling off again with an injury. From all accounts in training camp, he seems to be healthy again this year and his ADP reflects that. Going off the board 39th overall in the spring, his ADP has risen to 27th overall today.
Fantasy Downside
A 31-year-old coming off two injury-riddled seasons isn't exactly a recipe for a league-winner in fantasy. The injuries linger a little longer and the competition is stiffer this year with Nacua and the emergence of Demarcus Robinson as a true No. 3 receiver down the stretch last year. He also saw a decline in his yards per route run (down to 2.1 from 3.4 in 2021) for a second consecutive year.
2024 Bottom Line
The bottom line for Kupp is that his ADP is rising and is getting into a tougher spot to draft. That said, he may not be the alpha of 2019-2021, but he's still a potential mid-end WR2 going in about that range at WR18. The injury history is a bit scary, but we really shouldn't be projecting injuries. He's still a buy as WR18, but if he starts creeping up towards WR12, it would be more of a fade.
