Scouting report

by Chris Kucharski

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Washington Commanders
Dallas Goedert has been much better over the last three games. He has averaged six catches and 78 yards per game. He also has scored two touchdowns. It was a slow start for Goedert, but he seems to be playing like we expected going into the season.

Goedert faces Washington who is ranked 23rd in aFPA to tight ends. In the first meeting with the Commanders, he had only two catches for 24 yards and he also struggled in the two meetings in 2022.

The Eagles offense has been playing well and the matchup is favorable. Start Goedert as a top-five fantasy tight end for Week 8.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Miami Dolphins
Dallas Goedert seems back with 17 targets over the last two games. His fantasy numbers weren't great last game, but the fact QB Jalen Hurts is looking for him more is a good sign.

Goedert faces the Dolphins who are ranked 27th in aFPA to tight ends. Keep an eye on the injury report as he has a groin issue, but is expected to play.

With the good matchup and the recent usage of Goedert, he ranks as a solid TE1 for Week 7.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
It was a slow start for Dallas Goedert in 2023, but last week he rewarded his managers for their patience. Goedert had season-highs with nine targets, eight receptions and 117 yards. He also scored his first touchdown of the season.

Goedert will have a favorable matchup this week against the Jets who are ranked 29th in aFPA to tight ends. Last week should get him going and although we won't see those fantasy number each week, he should be more consistent week to week moving forward. Start Goedert as a solid TE1 for Week 6.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Los Angeles Rams
Dallas Goedert had another quiet game with only two receptions for 25 yards. He has zero touchdowns on the season and has not lived up to preseason expectations so far. Goedert still has potential each week, but so far no results.

It's a good matchup for Goedert against the Rams who are ranked 27th in aFPA to tight ends. It might be a good game for him to get on track. Start him as a solid TE1 for Week 5. Goedert is due for some better fantasy numbers.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Washington Commanders
Dallas Goedert had his best numbers of 2023 with five receptions for 41 yards. He still doesn't have a touchdown this season which had been considered a strength in the past. He still remains a favorite target of QB Jalen Hurts so expect him to stay involved with the offense.

Washington is 3rd in aFPA to tight ends and Goedert had two touchdowns against them last season. This could be a good week for the Eagles passing game so start Goedert as a solid TE1 for Week 4.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After getting shut out in Week 1, Dallas Goedert bounced back with a solid game last week with six catches on seven targets. He only ended up with 22 yards, but was solid enough in PPR leagues.

Goedert faces the Bucs who are ranked 19th in aFPA to tight ends. The numbers haven't been where we expected for Goedert early, but this will be a big game for the Philly offense.

Watch QB Jalen Hurts make an effort again this week to get Goedert involved in the offense. He should see the same targets, but more yardage in Week 3. Start him as a TE1 on Sunday.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings
It was a bad start for Dallas Goedert from a fantasy standpoint. The Eagles didn't throw the ball well as a team, but he was left with one target and zero receptions against the Patriots. Don't panic just yet. New England's defense is pretty good and the weather was a factor. That should turn around this week.

Goedert faces the Vikings on a short week. Minnesota doesn't have a very good defense so expect the numbers to get back to normal for the Philly tight end. Start Goedert as a solid TE1 for Week 2. He will have at least five catches and eclipse the 50-yard mark.
