Scouting report

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Dallas Goedert was one of the few Eagles skill players to have a good fantasy day despite the offense scoring 41 points. He had six receptions for 72 yards, but zero touchdowns. He hasn't reached the end zone since Week 4.

Goedert faces a Chargers defense that has shut down wide receivers but has been vulnerable to tight ends. This is a favorable matchup for the Eagles so expect them to use it.

Start Goedert as a top 5 fantasy tight end for Week 9 and if he can find the end zone again, he could have a big outing for your team.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Detroit
With Zach Ertz gone to Arizona, Dallas Goedert's stock should have risen and he did have a season-high 70 receiving yards last week. The targets and receptions stayed around the same. Plenty of people had him ranked a TE1 coming into the season, but he dropped off a little as the season started. He is back to that level now with Ertz gone.

Goedert faces the Lions who are ranked 14th in aFPA to tight ends. The Eagles should have him as a big part of the game plan and we are predicting his best game of the season. Start Goedert as a Top-5 fantasy tight end for Week 8.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas
Dallas Goedert missed last Sunday because of COVID-19 issues. Before that, he had been a slight disappointment as many people had him a clear-cut TE1. After last week's game, long-time Eagle tight end Zach Ertz was traded which now makes Goedert the only tight end with value.

Goedert has a great matchup against the Raiders who are ranked 27th in aFPA to tight ends. This should be a good bounce back from him and get him back in the good graces of his owners. If he is on the waiver wire, pick him.

Start Goedert as a solid TE1 for Week 7 against Las Vegas.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Carolina
Dallas Goedert had a season-high five catches and 56 yards last Sunday. He scored his second touchdown of the season. Goedert's numbers are an example of where his ceiling probably is. He is going to bounce around in the rankings based on the opponent.

This week, he faces the Panthers who have a good defense, but tight ends have had success early in the season.

Goedert needs to get more targets (see 2020) to raise those numbers up. Last week, Zach Ertz had more. Until we do, he is borderline TE1. For Week 5, keep him on the bench even with a favorable matchup.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Kansas City
Dallas Goedert has averaged fewer than four targets a game and the Eagles who were so dependent on their tight ends over the past several seasons, have turned to other options. Goedert's numbers were decent last week with 66 receiving yards, but only two catches.

It would seem to be a good time for the Eagles to look to those tight ends against a below-average Kansas City defense, but Goedert who some drafted as a TE1 is not looking the part.

Keep Goedert on the bench against KC as a TE2. When the targets start going up, he will become more fantasy-relevant than the first three games.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas
Dallas Goedert is off the to a slow start with only seven targets producing 6 receptions for 66 yards. He did have a touchdown Week 1 but was held out of the end zone last week. The Eagles need to look his way more because he has put up good numbers in the past and has proven a capable contributor to the offense.

Goedert faces the Cowboys who were ranked 15th in aFPA to tight ends in 2020. He only had four receptions in two games last year against Dallas. Look for the Eagles to get him more involved on Monday. Start him as a low-end TE 1 for Week 3.

PHI TE Dallas Goedert - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. San Francisco
Dallas Goedert had a solid start to his 2021 season. He was targeted five times and caught four passes for 42 yards. The biggest boom to his value was a touchdown reception. So the overall afternoon was positive.

Goedert and the Eagles have a tough matchup against a 49ers team that was ranked No. 1 in aFPA to tight ends in 2020. It will be interesting what kind of production Goedert can have against a first-rate defense.

Start Goedert for Week 2 but only as a low-end TE1. There could be a better option on your bench, but most likely, Goedert will still get you enough tight end numbers to help your team.
