NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City Chiefs

Daniel Jones threw for 203 yards and a touchdown last week, adding eight carries for 28 rushing yards in a rare blowout win for the Giants over the Panthers. Jones’ rushing totals have been down as of late, but the eight carries is a good sign for fantasy managers looking to add some upside to the position.

This week, Jones faces a struggling Chiefs defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. With his rushing ability and the horrible play by the Chiefs defense this season, Jones is a viable streaming option and we have him ranked as a fringe starter this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers

Daniel Jones didn’t miss a game following a nasty-looking concussion in Week 5, but he looked shaky against the Rams on Sunday. He threw for 242 yards and three interceptions and had only four rushing yards on three attempts. The Rams destroyed the Giants, 38-11, and Jones was sacked four times on the day. The Giants are now 1-5 and continue to suffer injuries to Jones’ weapons. Even though there’s upside against a Panthers defense that struggled last week against Kirk Cousins, it’s too risky to put Jones in fantasy lineups outside of deep, 2QB formats. Sit him.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Dallas Cowboys

Daniel Jones had a great week against the Saints last week in a surprise Giants victory. He threw for 402 yards, a pair of touchdowns and a pick and added 27 yards on the ground. Jones now has 188 yards rushing and is the QB6 in total fantasy points so far this season. The Giants' offense looks like it’s on the upswing, and Jones’ rushing makes him a viable streaming option at least for fantasy managers needing help at the position.

This week, Jones faces a surprisingly strong Cowboys defense that ranks 16th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect the Cowboys to get out ahead early, forcing Jones to throw the ball, making him a viable starting option. We have him as a fringe QB1 option this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New Orleans Saints

Daniel Jones was disappointing last week in what should’ve been an easy matchup against the Falcons. He ended up with 266 yards passing and 39 yards rushing but didn’t score a touchdown in either facet of the game and he fumbled twice. The 39 yards rushing brings his total to 161 on the season, which makes him fantasy-relevant. However, it’s hard to trust him in 1QB leagues and fantasy managers should look elsewhere if possible. He has a tough matchup against the Saints this week, who shut down Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 and then forced three interceptions against the Patriots last week. Sit him.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Daniel Jones turned in a very nice fantasy performance last week against what was supposed to be a tough Washington defense, largely due to a 46-yard touchdown run. He ended up with 95 rushing yards, 249 passing yards, and a passing touchdown on top of the rushing score. Jones may not be the future at the position for New York, but his rushing ability makes him at least an intriguing bye week option or injury replacement with upside.

This week, he’ll face a Falcons defense that looks awful. Atlanta gave up big numbers to Jalen Hurts in Week 1, and then again to Tom Brady last week. This Falcons team is ripe for fantasy production, as they have a potentially decent offense and can’t stop anyone. Jones has the Konami Code upside you look for in a starter and has a great matchup, so fantasy managers should give him a chance as a streamer if they need help.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Washington Football Team

Daniel Jones struggled until garbage time against the Broncos last week, but wound up with a decent enough fantasy outing – 267 yards, a passing touchdown and a score on the ground. He’s too volatile and risky to bank on week-to-week however, especially with a tough matchup this week. Washington allowed the seventh-least aFPA to opposing quarterbacks last season and kept Justin Herbert out of the top-25 in fantasy points in Week 1. Leave Jones on waivers in most leagues.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Denver Broncos

Daniel Jones struggled last season and with nicked-up players all around him and no change to the play-calling this season, it’s hard to imagine much of an improvement. The Broncos have two solid pass rushers and an opportunistic secondary, and they ranked 13th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks last season, making it hard to bank on the mercurial Jones to start off the season. Leave him on waivers in 1QB leagues.
