OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Kansas City Chiefs
In Week 12, Waller played 90% of the snaps, had three receptions on six targets, 41 yards, 59 air yards, zero touchdowns, 18% of the team targets, 30% of the team air yards and finished as the TE12. Waller scored two touchdowns against the Packers in Week 7, one touchdown against the Texans in Week 8, but has been held out of the end zone for four straight weeks. Despite only scoring three touchdowns on the season, Waller is the half PPR TE5.

The Chiefs are 14th against tight ends, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. Waller is most likely a must start for fantasy managers because tight end continues to be very thin. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Waller ranked as the half PPR TE5.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Jets
In Week 11, Waller played 94% of the snaps, had five receptions on seven targets, 78 yards, 44 air yards, zero touchdowns, 24% of the team targets, 24% of the team air yards and finished as the TE12. Waller is the half PPR TE4 on the season despite Foster Moreau vulturing four touchdowns.

It’s another thin week at the tight end position with Travis Kelce on a bye, Austin Hooper likely out a couple more weeks, and Evan Engram ruled out with a foot injury. The Jets are fourteenth best against tight ends, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Waller ranked as the half PPR TE2 but the rankings may change with George Kittle expected to return against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
In Week 10, Waller played 97% of the snaps, had three receptions on five targets, 40 yards, 39 air yards, zero touchdowns, 16% of the team targets, 21% of the team air yards and finished as the weekly TE22. It was encouraging to see Waller’s snap percentage back in the 90s because it dropped to 79% last week.

Tight end is extremely thin this week with Evan Engram injured and on a bye, George Kittle questionable at best, and Austin Hooper potentially out a month with a sprained MCL. Be thankful to have Darren Waller. The Bengals are thirteenth best against tight ends, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Waller ranked as the half PPR TE3.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Waller played 57 of 72 snaps (79%), had two receptions on two targets, 52 yards, 19 air yards, 6% of the team targets, 7% of the team air yards and finished as the weekly TE19. Foster Moreau scored his third touchdown of the season and his red zone usages continues to limit Waller’s ceiling.

The Chargers are thirteenth best against tight ends, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Waller ranked as the half PPR TE3. Waller has a difficult matchup but is a good start because there aren't any better options available on the waiver wire. The tight end possible has been thin all year and the trend will likely continue for the remainder of the season.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Detroit Lions
Waller played 54 of 56 snaps (96%), had two receptions on eight targets, 11 yards, 68 air yards, one touchdown, 27% of the team targets, and 24% of the team air yards. He only had two receptions but finished as the half PPR TE13 thanks to one of those receptions being a touchdown. Week 8 was a strange week for tight ends with a lot of the big names busting. The top three tight ends were Darren Fells, Ryan Griffin, and Jonnu Smith.

The Lions are twelfth worst against tight ends as shown by our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. This game has the second-highest over/under (50.5). 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, ranked Waller as the half PPR TE2 this week. He will be a safe tight end start for the rest of the season.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Houston Texans

Waller’s scoreless streak ended as he exploded for two touchdowns and 126 yards. In general, the Raiders have not had much fantasy success but Waller is an exception.

He could continue his hot streak this week because this game has the second-highest over/under (51.5) of the week. However, the matchup isn’t ideal because the Texans are third-best against tight ends, as shown by our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. Despite the poor matchup on paper, Waller is a safe start. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Waller ranked as the Half PPR TE2.

OAK TE Darren Waller - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Green Bay Packers
The Raiders had a bye in Week 6.

4for4 rankings expert John Paulsen has Waller ranked as the half PPR TE7 against the Packers who are eight best against the tight end position, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. In general, the tight end position has been a wasteland but Waller has been an exception. He had 26 targets through his first three games but 11 targets in the last two games. The Raiders are extremely thin at wide receiver and could heavily rely on Waller in the passing game. Overall, the matchup is a downgrade but Waller is still a safe tight end to start on a weekly basis.
