Scouting report

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Baltimore Ravens

David Njoku has a touchdown in his last two games played and has averaged eight targets in those two games. Njoku has returned to being a solid contributor in this offense and is one of the better tight ends options after the top group. Njoku is starting to heat up at just the right time, so roll with him this week. He also had 71 yards on seven catches against the Ravens in Week 7.

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Cincinnati Bengals

David Njoku missed Week 13 with a lingering knee issue but is expected to return in Week 14. So this will be his first game with Deshaun Watson, which will make it interesting to see how that connection builds. He scored a touchdown in his last game in Week 12 against the Buccaneers. He also saw 7 targets from Jacoby Brissett, so there's no reason to think Watson wouldn't try connecting with him. Consider Njoku a low-end TE1 against the Bengals,

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Houston Texans

David Njoku scored his first touchdown since Week 3 against the Buccaneers and was back to his usual 6-7 targets area. He saw just three against the Bills, but he was more on a pitch count in that game. This week against the Texans, Njoku faces a bottom-five team against opposing tight ends, so it's an enticing matchup for Njoku, who you have to think is back as the No. 2 option for the Browns, but it will be interesting to see what Watson's progressions and preferences are in the offense.

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

David Njoku returned to action last week against the Bills but seemed to be on a pitch count. He should be turned loose a little more this week against the Buccaneers, who are around the middle of the pack against opposing tight ends. Njoku was a favorite target of Jacoby Brissett during his run, so perhaps they have one last bit of magic together before Brissett heads to the bench. Njoku is a low-end TE1 this week.

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Miami Dolphins

David Njoku has had a couple of weeks to recover from his ankle injury and should be good to go for this week against the Dolphins, a team giving up the third-most fantasy points to tight ends. Jacoby Brissett has his buddy back. Njoku is a top-ten option this week in a good matchup.

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore Ravens

David Njoku is riding a streak of four straight games with at least 50 yards, so he's on a good pace and has become a trusted receiver for Jacoby Brissett. He essentially works as the second option in the passing game. The Ravens have been an average pass defense so far, and an easier matchup than the Patriots, so the pass game should stay on track this week. Njoku makes for a fine option after the big names at the top.

CLE TE David Njoku - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New England Patriots

It looks like David Njoku and Jacoby Brissett have really built their connection up. Over the last three weeks, Njoku has caught 20 passes and has at least 73 yards each game in that span with a touchdown. Brissett doesn't have too many other options on the outside, so he'll continue to look Njoku's way, especially against a Patriots team that is giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season (though they did hold T.J, Hockenson to just one catch for six yards after he posted 8-179-2 against the Vikings).
