Cowboys coach Jason Garrett benched running back DeMarco Murray during last week’s preseason game after Murray fumbled. Murray says that if Garrett was trying to get his attention, he didn’t need to.

That’s because, according to Murray, Murray is not a fumbler and knows that holding onto the ball is essential.

“I know how important the ball is,” Murray said, via WFAA. “I wouldn’t say it got my attention. I know how important the ball is. You can’t fumble. Since I’ve been carrying the ball since high school, college, even here, I’ve never been a fumbler. I won’t be so I’m not worried about it.”

Fantasy Impact:

The story points out that Murray has only fumbled four times in 386 regular-season touches in his two-year career, so he can make a pretty good case that he really isn’t a fumbler. Murray makes for a pretty good RB2 candidate on your fantasy team with an ADP of the fourth round. We rank him 17th among our RBs.

Lance Dunbar in jeopardy of missing Week 1

Dallas running back Lance Dunbar suffered a sprained left foot that could keep him out of the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the New York Giants.

Dunbar is in a protective boot and could need 3-4 weeks to return, according to a source. Dunbar had a 43-yard catch against Arizona last Saturday but fumbled at the end of the play. He returned to the game and did not mention being hurt in the locker room after the 12-7 loss to the Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact:

Dunbar is expected to see third-down duties and back up starting RB DeMarco Murray. The story also reminded us that Murray's sprained foot last season caused him to miss six games last. Joseph Randle is next up on the depth chart and has played pretty well in preseason games thus far.
