Scouting report

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Philadelphia

DeSean Jackson caught six balls for 153 yards and a TD last week against the Bills. It was the most yards he's had this season while the catches and targets (8) tied yearly highs.

Jackson now comes into Week 16 in a must-win game for the NFC East going against his former team. He missed the two teams' first meeting this season, but you can bet Jackson is eager for this one going against a banged up Eagles secondary. In his last two games against the Eagles, Jackson has totaled nine caches for 243 yards and a TD. Jackson should be a nice play this week as he always seems to get up going against his former team. We rank Jackson 15th with is a borderline, low-end WR1 play.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Bears
DeSean Jackson scored a TD for the third week in a row last week, finishing with a line of 6-80-1 (7) against the Cowboys. After not doing much his first two weeks back, Jackson is averaging about a 4-75-1 line his last three games. It's a tough matchup this week as the Bears have been pretty good at keeping WRs in check in terms of fantasy points (ranked 11th), so Jackson is still a WR3 option in most formats.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Dallas
DeSean Jackson has put together back-to-back weeks of solid fantasy performances thanks to a couple of big play TDs. Last week, Jackson caught two ball for 66 yards with one of those catches a TD. It's pretty typical numbers for DJax, who often depends on a long TD for a productive fantasy game. The problem this week is Dallas ranks fifth in allowing fantasy points to WRs, so this isn't a great matchup for the Redskins passing game. Jackson is more of a WR3 play but obviously his upside is pretty good.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New York Giants
We finally had a DeSean Jackson sighting last week. He caught five balls for 87 yards and a TD on eight targets. It was his best game since getting injured in Week 1. Jackson gets a favorable matchup this week against the Giants, who are 27th in allowing fantasy points to WRs. Despite perhaps being back on the track to fantasy relevance, Jackson is ranked as more of a WR3 option this week as it's hard to predict just what you're going to get from the Redskins offense. The odds are a little better this week in a favorable passing matchup against NYG.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina
Despite an offensive explosion last week for the Redskins, DeSean Jackson had just two catches for 44 yards. He was targeted five times. There was a chance Jackson was going to be used more last week in a great matchup, but he was actually targeted one fewer time than Week 9. This week, it's a tough matchup for Jackson and his ranking takes a hit, coming in at 37th, thus making him more of a low-end WR3 or high-end WR4. On top of that, it's a tough matchup against the Panthers who are fourth in allowing fantasy points to WRs. At this point, it's still best to take a wait-and-see approach with Jackson.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs New Orleans
Playing in his first game since Week 1, DeSean Jackson caught just three balls for 15 yards. He wasn't happy about his lack of production and the hope for owners is he improves this week. It's a great matchup as the Saints are just 27th in allowing fantasy points to WRs. Still, Jackson is a risk until we see more and we often recommend taking a wait-and-see approach with players in Jackson's situation. Despite the great matchup, Jackson is just a lower-end WR3 option this week because of all the risks.

WAS WR DeSean Jackson - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New England
DeSean Jackson makes his return this week and is ranked 32nd on our WR list. Kirk Cousins seems to have made some progress over the last few weeks and the hope is adding Jackson to the offense will only help. Jackson can makes a fantasy owner's week with just one long TD catch, but he can also throw out a clunker at any time. He's ranked as a WR3 this week which is a pretty safe spot to play him. Coming off an injury, it's probably better to wait-and-see with a guy like Jackson, but his big play potential always makes it tempting for lineups. Start him with caution.
