Fantasy Upside
Devin Singletary was a Top 10 fantasy running back from when he took hold of the Texans' starting role in Week 9 last season. The obvious upside case is that he gets the Saquon Barkley treatment. Barkley averaged 18 carries and 4 targets per game from Week 6 last year. Given a similar workload it's hard to imagine Singletary not smashing his current ADP of RB32. We have him projected as WR28.
Fantasy Downside
The downside here is being tied to Daniel Jones and a Giants offense that might not be able to provide the type of scoring upside that we want for Singletary. With the team in evaluation mode, they also may want to see what they have in Tyrone Tracy. The combination of a low-powered offense and the potential to lose work to a backfield mate makes relying on Singletary a bit risky.
2024 Bottom Line
The bottom line is that the price for Singletary is about right. There is some upside there but his price reflects the risk that comes with drafting a running back on a middling contract. In redraft, he's fine as an RB3 with some potential upside if he's given the keys to the castle.
