IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 20, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 20 vs. New England

Donte Moncrief has shown his explosiveness in a few games this season, but overall he just produces average numbers. He's caught five passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' two postseason games this season.

Moncrief is a shot-in-the-dark option this week, but he has a really low floor. He'll be a boom-or-bust play in a difficult matchup against the Patriots.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 19, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 19 vs. Denver

Donte Moncrief caught all three of his targets last week for 54 yards and a touchdown. He's the second-best option in the Colts' offense, but we'd like to see more than just three targets toward his direction. Moncrief is a talented wideout, but there's only so much success you can have with three targets.

He'll face a tough Broncos secondary this week. A tough matchup with not many targets makes Moncrief a middle-of-the-road option.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Wild Card vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Donte Moncrief has shown us this season he's capable of making plays, but he's typically not very involved in the Colts' offense. He has two 100-yard games, but has just one game above 40 yards outside of that.

Outside of T.Y. Hilton, there aren't many Colts receivers to trust in fantasy. Moncrief is boom-or-bust (typically bust) and Reggie Wayne is dealing with a serious injury. Hakeem Nicks is just sort of...there.

Moncrief is the second-best WR option on the Colts, but he's not a strong option in fantasy.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 17 vs. Tennessee Titans

After Donte Moncrief's 134-yard effort against the Redskins he's been a big letdown. He's caught five passes for 38 yards combined in the three games since that effort. Last week he only managed two receptions for five yards even with T.Y. Hilton sidelined.

Hilton has a chance to be sidelined again in Week 17, which should be a boost for Moncrief. The Colts may not be in full-attack mode this week, however. They've already clinched the AFC South and don't have much to gain with a win. They're also playing a two-win Titans team.

Moncrief should be viewed as a hard-to-trust WR3.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 16 vs. Dallas

Donte Moncrief has had two 100-yard breakout games this season, which raises his hype. But he also has four games without a reception. Oddly enough, two of those games both came two weeks after his 100-yard games. Last week was one of those zero-yard games and that's because he didn't even get a target.

Moncrief has breakout potential, but he's a very risky option given his low floor. He's a low WR3 or WR4 option weekly.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 15 vs. Houston Texans

Donte Moncrief is starting to get more playing time. He has three consecutive games with four targets. In two of those games he finished with 38 yards and 33 yards with no touchdowns. In the other game he finished with 134 yards and two touchdowns. As you can see, he's a tough player to predict.

Moncrief gets a dream matchup this week against Houston, but his usage should be a concern. Even though he has more production than Reggie Wayne Moncrief is playing fewer snaps. He's also not being targeted as much as Wayne.

T.Y. Hilton should get the bulk of the receiving yards from Andrew Luck with Moncrief and Wayne contributing behind him. Moncrief has a high ceiling, but should be viewed as a WR3 or WR4.

IND WR Donte Moncrief - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Donte Moncrief - Week 14 vs. Cleveland Browns

Don't get too excited by Donte Moncrief's big performance last week (3-134-2). He had a big game earlier this year against Pittsburgh (7-113-1) and followed it up with a one-catch dud.

There's still reason for optimism, however. Moncrief played on over half of the team's offensive snaps (more than Hakeem Nicks) and now has back-to-back games with four targets. It's the first time this season we've seen that.

He'll get a middle-of-the-road matchup this week against Cleveland. He should be viewed as a WR4 with upside.
