TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Green Bay Packers
In the easy win over Detroit last week, Jonnu Smith caught all five of his targets for 52 yards. The reception total tied a season-high and the yards were the most he’s posted since Week 2. Green Bay is No. 9 against the pass so Smith is a low-end TE1 start.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions
After missing the previous game with a knee injury, Jonnu Smith returned last week at Jacksonville, finishing with 20 yards on two grabs and three yards on a rush attempt. Even though he’ll be facing a bad Detroit pass defense at home on Sunday, Smith’s inconsistencies make him a risky fantasy start.

Week 14 at Jacksonville Jaguars
After missing last week’s game with a knee injury, Jonnu Smith is expected to return on Sunday. While he’s scored eight times this season Smith is averaging just 34 yards per outing. However, in September he had his best day as a pro versus Jacksonville, totaling 84 yards and two TDs.

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
With Derrick Henry being a one-man wrecking crew in the win against the Colts last week Ryan Tannehill completed only 13 passes. Jonnu Smith failed to receive a target and has two or fewer grabs in six of his last seven outings. Even though he’s scored eight times this season Smith is a risky fantasy start due to his lack of involvement.

Update: Jonnu Smith is out for Week 13.

Week 12 at Indianapolis Colts
Another game, another trip into the end zone for Jonnu Smith. Last week in the win over the Ravens he caught four passes for 20 yards and scored his eighth TD of the season. It’s a good thing for owners he’s posting the touchdowns, as Smith hasn’t totaled more than 40 yards in seven consecutive contests. Just a couple weeks ago in the loss to Indianapolis Smith caught only two passes for 14 yards.

Week 11 at Baltimore Ravens
Despite catching only two passes for 14 yards in the loss to the Colts last Thursday, Jonnu Smith rewarded owners with a one-yard TD run on an end-around. In the past five outings, Smith has failed to record more than two receptions but at least he’s found the end zone in two straight. Look for Tennessee’s offense to struggle again at Baltimore, making Smith a low-end TE1 start.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Indianapolis Colts
It looked like it was going to be another disappointing outing for Jonnu Smith last Sunday versus the Bears. He was limited to one catch until the fourth quarter when he snagged a two-yard touchdown – his first score since mid-October and sixth of the season. In the past four games, Smith has only been targeted 10 times, leading to just six grabs. Don’t get too excited about the big TE as he’ll be facing the No. 3 pass defense on Thursday night.
