TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Chicago Bears
After back-to-back one reception outings, Jonnu Smith didn’t do much better against the Bengals last week. In the loss he was targeted only twice, resulting in two grabs for 29 yards. Despite five TDs on the year, Smith hasn’t found the end zone in three straight contests and has a tough matchup versus the Bears on Sunday. Don’t give up on Smith but he’s a low-TE1 option at home.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cincinnati Bengals
In the home loss to the Steelers last week, Jonnu Smith received four targets but was held to just a nine-yard grab by a stout Steelers defense. He was battling an ankle injury during the week so it’s not clear if that had anything to do with his unproductive day. Consider the last two outings anomalies as Smith posted 18 grabs and five TDs the first four games. He has a great opportunity to turn things around on Sunday against a poor Bengals pass defense.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
After leaving last week’s contest in the third quarter with a sprained ankle, Jonnu Smith should be fine for the undefeated battle with the Steelers on Sunday. Prior to exiting the overtime win versus Houston Smith recorded five receptions for 22 yards, while fellow TE Anthony Firkser had a career day with 113 yards and a score. Pittsburgh’s defense has been solid this season, but Ryan Tannehill will continue to utilize his TE, so keep starting Smith despite the tough matchup.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Houston Texans
With the Titans dealing with a bit of a short-handed receiving corps versus the Bills on Tuesday, Jonnu Smith stepped up with five grabs for 40 yards and two TDs. In four contests this season he’s already posted five scores and is averaging 55 yards per outing. The Texans are No. 8 at stopping the pass but Smith is becoming an elite TE.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo Bills
After a big Week 2 outing Jonnu Smith led the Titans with eight targets, resulting in five receptions for 61 yards, in the win over the Vikings two weeks ago. While it was the first time this season Smith was held out of the end zone, he continues to be a valuable part of the Tennessee passing attack, even with the return of A.J. Brown. Smith makes for a TE1 start versus a struggling Bills pass defense.

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
After a big Week 2 outing, Jonnu Smith led the Titans with eight targets, resulting in five receptions for 61 yards in the win over the Vikings last week. While it was the first time this season Smith was held out of the end zone, he continues to be a valuable part of the Tennessee passing attack, especially with A.J. Brown nursing a knee injury. The Steelers D was solid in September, but Smith still makes for a TE1 play.

UPDATE: THIS WEEK4 GAME HAS BEEN POSTPONED

TEN TE Jonnu Smith - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Minnesota Vikings
Jonnu Smith got things going for the Titans with a 63-yard catch and run on the first play from scrimmage last week in the win over the Jaguars. He finished with four receptions for a team-high 84 yards and two TDs – bringing his ’20 total to three already. Smith and the Tennessee passing attack have another good matchup on Sunday against a porous Vikings pass defense. He should be started with confidence.
