Scouting report

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Green Bay
With the Texans trying to play catchup for most of last week’s game against San Diego, Lamar Miller was held to 57 rushing and 18 receiving yards on 22 touches. Lamar will continue to receive the bulk of the carries out of the backfield, but with inconsistent QB play, defenses are able to make Houston beat them on the ground. The Packers are No. 7 in the NFL at stopping the run, but you can’t leave Miller on your bench.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. San Diego
In the loss in Mexico to the Raiders last Monday, Lamar Miller plowed through the Oakland defense for 104 yards and his fourth score of the season. He also caught two passes for nine yards. It was Lamar’s first 100-yard game since mid-October and the most touches (26) he’s had since then as well. The Chargers are No. 5 at stopping the run, allowing just 87 yards per game on the ground, but there’s no way you’re leaving Miller on your bench.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Oakland
Last week in the win over the Jags, Lamar Miller again led the Houston ground game with 15 carries for 83 yards, despite missing some time with an ankle injury. He was stopped just short of a touchdown on a 45-yard run that set up a passing score to TE Ryan Griffin. Oakland is No. 21 versus the run, so be sure to keep Miller in your starting lineup, as he’ll lead the team in touches once again.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville
In the game before last week’s bye, Lamar Miller ran for just 56 yards on 17 attempts, but did score his third total touchdown of the season. With the week off allowing for him to rest an injured shoulder, Lamar should be good to run through a weak Jacksonville run defense. Be sure to re-insert Miller back into your starting lineup.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Detroit
Lamar Miller battled through a shoulder injury last Monday in Denver, finishing with just 11 carries for 61 yards. Lamar had a 25-yard scamper and was getting good results against a solid defense before being spelled by Alfred Blue for much of the game after the injury. Even with the short week, Miller will be on the field on Sunday and has a good matchup against a Detroit defense that allows 112 yards per game on the ground.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver
Just a week after being stymied by the Vikings defense, Lamar Miller was back to his usual self (and then some) at home against the Colts last Sunday night. Lamar ran for 149 yards and a TD on 24 carries and also caught three passes for 29 yards and another score. He definitely sparked the comeback win, but has a tough matchup on the road Monday night, where the Broncos are allowing less than 300 total yards per game. However, there’s no way you’re leaving Miller on your bench.

HOU RB Lamar Miller - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Indianapolis
The Vikings shut down the Texans offense last Sunday, with Lamar Miller having his worst numbers of the season. The RB carried the ball eight times for only 20 yards and added a four-yard catch. Once Houston got behind, Lamar’s touches were limited, as Alfred Blue actually led the team with 39 yards on the ground. Consider last week an anomaly. Miller will remain the featured back and has a nice matchup at home versus an Indy D that yields over 400 total yards per game.
