Scouting report

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at San Francisco 49ers

Larry Fitzgerald had only 3 catches for 29 yards against the Rams two weeks ago before the bye. The Cardinals struggled offensively after Carson Palmer was injured, and with Palmer out for the rest of the season, it’s difficult to anticipate Drew Stanton putting up the same lofty numbers in the passing game. Still, Fitzgerald has been able to put up respectable numbers with horrible quarterback play in the past, and he still has WR2 upside.

This week, Fitzgerald is ranked as a fringe WR1 against a 49ers defense that is tied for 25th in the league in passing touchdowns allowed this season. Expect Stanton to target his trusty veteran receiver often, giving Fitzgerald a fairly high floor in a great matchup.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Rams (game in London)

Larry Fitzgerald had a great game against the Bucs last week, catching 10-of-11 balls thrown his way for 138 yards and a touchdown. Fitzgerald is a steady option, especially in PPR formats, as he’s averaging 10.3 targets per game. He’s also scored a touchdown in three of his last four outings.

This week, Fitzgerald should have another good week against the Rams, despite Los Angeles allowing only 8 touchdown passes this year. Expect the Cardinals to continue to throw the ball fairly consistently, and for Fitzgerald to be the most consistent targets in the passing game. We have him ranked as a solid WR1 option in all league formats this week.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Larry Fitzgerald only had 51 yards last week, but he caught 6 passes on the day and tied for the team lead with 10 targets. Fitzgerald remains a steady option in all league formats, and should continue to be heavily targeted in the Arizona passing game.

This week, Fitzgerald has a lot of upside against a Bucs team giving up more fantasy points per game to the WR position than any other team in the league this year. Fantasy owners should have Fitzgerald active as a fringe WR1 option in all leagues.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Philadelphia Eagles

Larry Fitzgerald only had 32 yards on 4 receptions last week against the 49ers, but he caught a touchdown and he was targeted 7 times. He remains an active part of the passing game and should continue to be relied on heavily throughout the season.

This week, Fitzgerald will face an Eagles pass defense that gave up 10 catches, 253 yards, and a touchdown last week to the Chargers' top two WRs, and they rank third from the bottom in passing yards allowed per game. Fitzgerald is always a steady play, but he has WR1 potential in a good matchup this week.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Larry Fitzgerald blew up last week with 13 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys. Fitzgerald is a high-floor option in any given week and his consistency is one of the things that has kept him relevant as a fantasy option since he was drafted in 2003.

This week, Fitzgerald should be in for another good performance against a 49ers defense that was torched by Jared Goff for 3 touchdown passes last week. Expect the Cardinals to take advantage of a young defense and for Fitzgerald to put up borderline WR1 numbers.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Larry Fitzgerald was targeted 6 times against the Colts last week, but only ended up with 21 yards on 3 catches. Fitzgerald is still a big part of this offense and he’s worth continuing to use as a fringe WR2/WR3 option in most leagues.

The Cowboys gave up 4 touchdown passes to Trevor Siemian last week, so there’s some upside for the veteran Fitzgerald. His ceiling seems to have lowered in recent years, but his high volume of targets should keep him relevant.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Indianapolis Colts

Larry Fitzgerald had only 74 yards on 6 catches against the Lions last week, but he was targeted a team-high 13 times and he remains the number one option in the Arizona passing game. Fitzgerald still racks up receptions even though he’s 34 years old, and he’s a viable WR2 in any given week.

This week, he has an especially good matchup against the Colts, who looked like straight trash against the Rams last week. They gave up 306 yards and a touchdown to Jared Goff, and Fitzgerald and the Cardinals could take advantage of the matchup to bounce back after a loss to Detroit. Fitzgerald is a pretty steady option in general, and he has legit WR1 potential this week.
