Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday Night Football.

Fantasy Impact: 

If he's out, Alvin Kamara could see a monster workload against the Falcons. Trey Edmunds is next on the depth chart with nine carries on the year.

Fantasy Impact: 

Ingram was present for the early portion open to the media, though, the story said. So Triplett is speculating it could just be precaution on a short week. If for some reason Ingram doesn't play, Kamara would have huge upside as the team's RB1.

For Saints running back Mark Ingram, who’s in the midst of a career-year, the stakes are high. If he’s named a first-team All-Pro, Ingram’s contract voids, and he becomes a free agent, via Mike Triplett of ESPN.com.

Ingram has 806 rushing yards through 10 games; his career best came last year, with 1,043. As Triplett notes, however, Ingram has been particularly productive the past six games. If he can duplicate that performance, he’ll finish the year with 1,442 yards.

His current contract expires after 2018, at a base salary next year of $4 million. He signed the current four-year, $16 million deal to stay with the Saints after his rookie contract expired, and after the Saints didn’t pick up his fifth-year option.

Fantasy Impact: 

The story said the decision is made by the 50 media members who vote on the Associated Press All-Pro team. We're a while away from this becoming an issue but it would be interesting to see what the Saints decide to do with Kamara—an emerging star at the position.

Sean Payton loves and trusts Mark Ingram, as evidenced by the Saints’ decision to ship Adrian Peterson out of town earlier this month.

However, there is one thing that could block Ingram’s path to redemption. Or, rather, one rookie running back Payton also has developed a love and trust in: Alvin Kamara.

Fantasy Impact: 

Kamara finished out the game after Ingram fumbled twice in the fourth quarter. But the story said Payton knows he's going to need Ingram if the Saints are going to make a playoff run. However, one more thing the story pointed out was how Ingram's two fumbles in last year's loss to Kansas City opened the door for more work for Tim Hightower over the next few weeks before Ingram eventually re-established himself as the lead man.
