Scouting report

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Washington Commanders
Stefon Diggs numbers from last Sunday were a downgrade from Week 1 where he saw double-digit targets, a 100-yard receiving day and a touchdown. Against the Raiders, he caught all seven of his targets for 66 yards, but didn't reach the end zone.

Diggs will face the Commanders who are ranked 22nd in aFPA to wide receivers. What you saw last week is probably the floor for him and those targets should get back to double-digits this week.

Start Diggs as a solid WR1 for Week 2. As long as QB Josh Allen is the quarterback, Diggs will be the No. 1 target in the passing game and the numbers will follow.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Stefon Diggs was the only Bills fantasy winner from Week 1 as he had a typical Diggs-type day. He was targeted 13 times which produced 10 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown. And that's with QB Josh Allen having a subpar game.

Diggs must be drooling with the Raiders coming to town. They have a below-average defense and nobody who can shut down Diggs (like a Sauce Gardner). Buffalo's passing game should continue to prosper if Allen can stay away from the turnovers.

For the second straight week, Diggs rates a top-five fantasy wide receiver. The doubled-digit targets almost always means big fantasy numbers for him and that should be the case Sunday in Buffalo.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New York Jets
Stefon Diggs continues to have a major impact in fantasy. He still is Josh Allen's No. 1 target in the Bills offense and he can have big numbers on any given game day. Buffalo should still have many good passing days this season and he will be right in the mix getting the most targets and receptions each game.

Diggs had mixed results against the Jets last season. In the first meeting, he had five receptions for 93 yards but the second game he was held to three receptions for 37 yards. Diggs has put up numbers below his career averages against New York including only two touchdowns in seven games.

Despite some negatives, start Diggs as a top-5 fantasy wide receiver which will be the case most weeks. He will be near that 100-yard mark and heavily targeted and has a good chance of getting in the end zone.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Stefon Diggs remains among the best wide receivers in the NFL. He has three consecutive seasons with at least 100 receptions, 1,225 receiving yards, and eight receiving touchdowns. Diggs was ranked a WR1 all season and had seven games with 100+ receiving yards. The Buffalo offense should be at least as good as they were last season and Diggs will be the centerpiece of the passing game.

Fantasy Downside
Diggs will turn 30 this season so there is always the chance he starts to decline. The Bills also will face a tougher division with better defenses that will try to game plan against him.

2023 Bottom Line
Diggs is ready for another big season as he is definitely a top-five fantasy wide receiver. The only stat we see him regressing is receptions although he should still be 90+. Diggs' ADP is late-first round and he is definitely a player you can build a fantasy roster around. His weekly output has the potential to be the best each week as long as Josh Allen is his quarterback.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Cincinnati Bengals
Stefon Diggs had his worse fantasy game of the season last week, only catching two passes for 26 yards. It was his second sub-par performance in the last two games. Diggs has been counted on by fantasy managers to be a high scorer so the timing is bad for teams as they are into the playoffs.

Diggs faces the Bengals who are ranked 30th in aFPA to wide receivers. Cincinnati's defense has been better as of late, but it is still a favorable matchup for Buffalo.

Start Diggs as a solid WR1 for Week 17. We will ignore the recent struggles for him and look for a shootout where plenty of offense will be happening on Monday.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears
Stefon Diggs had his targets go back up to nine last Saturday which produced five receptions for 60 yards. He did not get in the end zone for the second straight week after scoring touchdowns in three straight games. Diggs remains dangerous every game because of the Buffalo offense and QB Josh Allen knows where his bread is buttered.

Diggs faces the Bears who are ranked 19th in aFPA to wide receivers. Cold weather in Chicago won't have much of a factor for the Bills because they are used to it.

Start Diggs as a top-five fantasy wide receiver for Week 16. When Diggs gets the targets, he usually delivers and we expect that to happen Saturday.

BUF WR Stefon Diggs - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins
The Bills passing game had its worst game of the season so Stefon Diggs was a disappointment last week. He caught a season-low three passes for 37 yards. Not much he could do only being targeted five times. Not many games like this for the Pro Bowl receiver.

Diggs will face the Dolphins who are ranked 12th in aFPA to wide receivers. In the first meeting this season with Miami, he had seven receptions for 74 yards. Weather could be a factor as wind, snow and cold will all be in the forecast in Buffalo.

Start Diggs as solid WR1 for Week 15. He will get his numbers back to where we are used to although don't expect his best game of the year.
