Vincent Jackson

The Chargers might be getting some good news going into Sunday's must-win game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wide receiver Vincent Jackson practiced on Thursday, appearing to run without any hindrance from the right calf strain he suffered two weeks ago in Indianapolis but not working the entire practice.

"It's manageable, I guess," Jackson said. "It's still pretty hard, sore, hurting."

Jackson was on the field just two plays against the Colts before pulling up. He has not practiced since and there was little optimism as late as Wednesday that Jackson would be good to go against the Chiefs.

"If I'm available and I'm healthy, of course, I'm going to give it everything I got," Jackson said.

Both Jackson and head coach Norv Turner said how Jackson feels Friday will say a lot about whether he actually plays Sunday.

“We’re not going to put him out there unless we’re confident,” Turner said. “If he can go out and make some plays and help us win, we need to put him on the field.”
