Fantasy Upside
If there was one strong landing spot for Najee Harris in the NFL Draft, it was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everybody and their mother mocked Harris to the Steelers in the first round. The Steelers ultimately agreed and took Harris with the 24th pick and now Harris has a chance to be the workhorse the Steelers so badly needed. The only way to go is up for the Steelers' rushing attack, which ranked dead last in 2020 at just 82.5 rushing yards per game. Harris immediately gives the Steelers an uptick in production on the ground.
Fantasy Downside
If there is one downside right now to Harris' fantasy projection, it's the question marks in front of him. Gone are Alejandro Villanueva, David DeCastro and Maurkice Pouncey. It's possible a rookie in Kendrick Green takes over at center, Chukwuma Okorafor and Zach Banner will be the tackles and Kevin Dotson and new addition Trai Turner will be the guards. How the offensive line plays could determine the ceiling for Harris.
2021 Bottom Line
Regardless of the offensive line outlook, the talent of Najee Harris will help mask some of those issues, and is why he is always being drafted in the second round of leagues as a potential RB1 and a sure-fire RB2 to start. Not many backs can be listed 6'2", 230 pounds and move the way Harris does. He'll also look really nice in new offensive coordinator Matt Canada's offense.
