Scouting report

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Washington Commanders
DeVonta Smith has been quiet the last three games as far as big plays are concerned. He has 12 catches over that stretch but for only 89 yards and 1 touchdown. The ball seems to be going to other targets right now so Smith's stock has slightly dropped.

It will be a good matchup for Smith against Washington who is ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. He had his best game of the season in the first meeting with the Commanders, as he was targeted 12 times which produced eight receptions for 169 yards and a touchdown.

Although the matchup is good and Smith had a great game the last time he saw Washington, his recent numbers put a damper on those positives. Start him only as a low-end WR3 or Flex for Week 10.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Houston Texans
While teammate A.J. Brown was getting the deep balls sent his way, DeVonta Smith had to settle for the short game. He did have five receptions, but for only 23 yards. So at least in PPR leagues he did get you some points, but it was just Brown's day.

Smith will face the Texans next. Houston is ranked 10th in aFPA to wide receivers. It's a Thursday night game on the road and considering Smith has been fairly quiet the past couple games, we will side with caution as far as expectations are concerned. Start Smith but only as a high-end WR3 or Flex for Week 9.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
DeVonta Smith had five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown against Dallas. One thing we haven't seen from him in recent games is plays downfield. That's why his numbers haven't been as good the last three weeks.

Up next for the Eagles is the Steelers who are ranked 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. It will be interesting to see how Philly uses Smith this week with a favorable matchup.

We rank Smith a high-end WR3 or Flex for Week 8. The fantasy numbers haven't been there lately although he is capable of a big game any week. But play it safe with expectations on Sunday.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Dallas Cowboys
It was another strong game for DeVonta Smith who had double-digit targets for the second time this season. He ended up with 10 receptions for 87 yards. He is going to have these type of games when opposing defenses pay more attention to A.J. Brown.

Smith will face a tough Cowboys defense who is ranked 8th in aFPA to wide receivers. In the two games versus Dallas last season, he had six receptions for 69 yards.

Start Smith as a high-end WR3 or Flex for Week 6. The matchup won't be easy and he struggled last season in the two games against the Cowboys.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Arizona Cardinals
After a good two-game run, DeVonta Smith struggled last Sunday with only three receptions for 17 yards. He will have games like this as the Eagles No. 2 receiver. The fact is Philly had their worst passing game of the season and Smith's numbers suffered.

Smith will face the Cardinals who are ranked 14th in aFPA to wide receivers. It will be hit or miss each week for him as he is capable of big games, but the Eagles have a lot of talent capable of thriving in the offense.

We like Smith in Week 5 as a high-end WR3 or Flex in Arizona. Until we see someone stop the Philadelphia offense, we will ride with Smith and other Birds.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
DeVonta Smith went off on Sunday against Washington with double-digit targets (12) for the first time since Week 4 of last season It produced eight receptions for 169 yards and a touchdown, his first of the season. Now don't expect this to happen every week. A.J. Brown is still the No. 1 receiver in Philly and the numbers will play out that way over the rest of the season,. But it was good to see Smith is capable of that type of game.

Smith will face the Jaguars who are ranked 15th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Jacksonville defense is young but starting to put it all together. The Eagles can expect a tougher challenge this week.

For Week 4, start Smith in your lineup a solid WR3 or Flex. At least when he has the type of game he had last Sunday, he will be in your lineup but the normal expectations will be enough to help your team.

PHI WR DeVonta Smith - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Washington Commanders
After getting shut out Week 1 against Detroit, DeVonta Smith bounced back with a nice game against the Vikings. He caught 7 passes on 7 targets for 80 yards. Smith is a nice complement to A.J.Brown and will have solid games like this moving forward, especially with QB Jalen Hurts playing well.

Smith has a nice matchup against a bad Washington pass defense. However, he isn't at the point yet where he should be in your lineup until we see more games from him like last Monday. Keep him on the bench.
