Week 14 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday
Eagles QB Sam Bradford (left shoulder) took full practice reps again Thursday. Bradford will start against the Bills.
Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (left thumb) took full practice reps again Thursday. Fitzpatrick has accounted for at least two touchdowns (rush/pass) in seven of his last eight games, with the lone exception being the Oakland game, where he played only 11% of the snaps due to injury. The Titans are 26th in QB aFPA, so Fitz is looking like a safe start this week.
Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (neck, back) took full practice reps again Thursday. It looks like Hasselbeck will be able to play against the Jaguars. Hasselbeck threw for 282 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars in Week 4. Jacksonville is 30th in QB aFPA, so as long as Hasselbeck stays upright, he should produce decent numbers in Week 14.
Rams QB Case Keenum (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday. Keenum is expected to start in Week 14.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) missed practice again Thursday. Luck is expected to miss more time. Matt Hasselbeck is banged up but should start against the Jaguars.
Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) did not practice Wednesday. Brock Osweiler will continue to start.
Browns QB Johnny Manziel (right elbow) took full practice reps again Thursday. Manziel will start against the 49ers and is a decent start considering his effective play this season.
Chargers QB Philip Rivers (foot) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Rivers should be fine to face the Chiefs, though he’s not an attractive start given the matchup and his previous performance against Kansas City (178 yards, 1 INT).
Cowboys QB Tony Romo (left shoulder) was ruled out for Week 14.
Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) did not practice Wednesday. Jimmy Clausen would start if Schaub can’t play.
