Week 16 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday
Eagles QB Sam Bradford (left shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday.
Saints QB Drew Brees (foot) did not practice Wednesday. Brees is being described as “day-to-day” with a plantar fascia injury in his foot. He is hoping to finish the season, so for now we’re expecting him to play through the injury.
Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (left thumb) practiced fully Wednesday. Fitz threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns in his Week 7 meeting with the Patriots.
Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck (back, rib) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Hasselbeck is expected to start, but that doesn’t mean he’ll finish the game.
Texans QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Hoyer is working his way back and may be able to return since the Texans are still in the playoff hunt. If he can’t play, Brandon Weeden would get the start.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Matt Hasselbeck is expected to start again this week.
Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee) did not practice Wednesday. He’s out for the year. Zach Mettenberger will start this week.
Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (right finger) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Palmer shouldn’t have an issue playing through the injury.
Cowboys QB Tony Romo (left shoulder) was ruled out for Week 16.
Jets QB Geno Smith (illness) did not practice Wednesday.
