Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 2 Targets
Week 1 is now in the books, and the 2015 season started off very well for QB streamers. Our optimal Week 1 streamer, Andy Dalton, posted 18.86 fantasy points, making him QB9 for the week. Not bad for someone you could have gotten for free in nearly any league last week.
Overall, our three streaming QBs combined for 16.05 points per game, which would qualify for QB15. I am quite content with those early results, despite missing on Marcus Mariota this week. As the season goes on, our data will become more reliable, and our success should improve.
As before, our streaming targets are based on the quarterback’s fantasy points per attempt (FPAT), the opposing defense’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points allowed (aFPA), and the Vegas lines. Note: 4for4’s 2015 aFPA data will first come out after we get three full weeks in the system. For now we continue to rely on the 2014 numbers.
Week 2 QB Streaming Targets
Andy Dalton (CIN) vs. San Diego Chargers
After a strong performance in Week 1 as our optimal streamer, Andy Dalton now gets to play at home against a good-but-not-great Chargers defense. Over the last two years, Dalton has averaged more than two extra fantasy points when his team is favored, and the Bengals are currently 3.5-point favorites to win. Dalton started off the 2015 season with 0.55 FPAT , putting him well inside the top half of all NFL passers.
Dalton is available in 74% of Yahoo public leagues, and he is my optimal streaming QB of the week.
