Streaming Kickers: Week 10 Targets

It’s Week 10 ladies and gents, and projecting a kicker’s output isn’t as difficult or random as you may think—in fact, taking a look at Vegas odds is the best way to accurately predict a kicker’s weekly potential. By focusing in on the team implied point totals, we can get a cumulative idea of how that offense will perform when it comes to settling for field goals, distance of kicks, and the like.

Another metric useful in projecting a kicker’s output is 4for4’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed or aFPA. By removing the schedule bias, we can compare matchups in an apples-to-apples manner. By Week 4, there’s a solid sample size to work from, and the info gets more trustworthy with each data-filled week.

The goal in streaming the kicker position is to roster a player who will return starting kicker fantasy points and in Week 9, two of my streamers were among the top 14. 4for4’s optimal streamer has 125 points this season—good enough for the highest point total at the position.

Cody Parkey, (Bears) vs. Lions

With an over/under set at 45 points, the Bears are favored to win by 6.5 in this NFC North showdown. Parkey is coming off a solid 11-point performance in Week 9, where he nailed two field goals and five extra points. He’s become a player with a consistent floor and rostered in just nine percent of leagues, makes for an attractive streaming option in Week 10.

Jason Myers, (Jets) vs. Bills

Despite the low over/under in this tilt (37), the Jets are projected to come out on top by seven points. Myers has been all over the place score-wise this season, but with Buffalo’s anemic offense potentially struggling to stay on the field, he should have ample opportunities to put points on the board. The Bills rank 25th in kicker aFPA through nine games, yielding eight points per contest to the position, and Myers is rostered in 27 percent of Yahoo leagues.
