IDP Waiver Wire - Week 11 Targets
It’s that time of the season when injuries have really begun to take their toll on both fantasy and real rosters, so quite a few of this week’s recommendations are a result of a player being forced to miss time, creating an opportunity for another. Options are also getting a little thin on the ground, so if you’re in need of some extra advice, feel free to ask me on Twitter (@RossMilesNFL).
Linebackers
Nick Kwiatkoski - Chicago Bears
A nasty-looking elbow injury to Bear ‘backer Danny Trevathan in their Week 9 game against the Lions has given Kwiatkoski an opportunity to shine, and he did so, returning 10 tackles, a sack and an interception. With Trevathan now rumored to be heading to injured reserve, it would open the door for Kwiatkoski to play as the team’s three-down middle linebacker for the rest of the season, instantly vaulting him into LB2 consideration.
Drue Tranquil - Los Angeles Chargers
Last week I called Tranquil a “speculative selection” but noted he was “playing his way into a more significant role”. Well, he needs mentioning again in this column as he played 100% of snaps last week and was handed play-calling duties over veteran Thomas Davis. He also racked up 14 total tackles so is now firmly on our radar and should be considered an upside LB3 - it’s hard to be more bullish on his prospects with very little playing time under his belt.
