I give the Patriots credit for being successful of late despite executing a game plan in which Cam Newton ($16,000 FD, $10,600 DK) has not thrown for 100 yards in back-to-back games. The scheduling gods were kind to the Pats, allowing the team to play their second of two games in Los Angeles four days apart. The Rams welcome New England after handling the Arizona Cardinals with relative ease.

There are plenty of interesting avenues to go down regarding this game.

It is vital to remember that single-game slates are not simply a “max salary, play as many big names as possible, and submit” format, especially in larger tournament fields. We need to identify players that can be pieces in their offense’s success, whether in the lead or trailing, as well as the players that could be focal points in a neutral game script. The ability to then take those players and identify which will succeed in the single-game format will put us in a better position to succeed as daily fantasy players.

The Rams are 5.5-point home favorites with an opening point total set at 44.5. The game has since been pulled from DraftKings Sportsbook but remains at FanDuel Sportsbook. Los Angeles had a 25-point implied team total, while New England had an implied team total of 19.5 points.
