2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational: Round 2 Matchups
Sixty-six of the best golfers in the world teed it up at the WGC event in Memphis on Thursday. And by the round's end, it was perhaps one of the streakiest players in the world standing alone atop the leaderboard. Harris English fired off an 8-under 62, continuing the hot play that has seen him finish third at the U.S. Open and win the Travelers in the past six weeks. He stands two shots clear of the field. Those sitting at 6-under include Jim Herman, Matthew Wolff, Carlos Ortiz and Ian Poulter. Many of the bigger names such as Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay had a tougher time on Thursday. Yet, with no cut-line for this event, hope still remains for a charge up the leaderboard over the next three days. With a repeat of today's warm temperature and calm winds forecast for tomorrow, expect another day of low scoring at TPC Southwind.
