DraftKings Player Props (March 17, 2021)
Bradley Beal Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (+126)
Facing off against the NBA’s worst defensive team, the Sacramento Kings have allowed over 10 three-pointers to their opponents in 13 straight games. This matchup features a whopping total of 245.5 points, with the Washington Wizards favored by 3.0 points. Washington leads the NBA in pace of play at 104.3, while Sacramento isn’t too far behind—tied for ninth at 100.2. Neither team fairs well on the defensive side of the ball so I’m expecting a shootout from the jump.
Following a big 37-point performance against Milwaukee, Bradley Beal made four of his seven three-point attempts and looks to be fully recovered from his ailing knee that held him out of Washington’s first of two contests against Milwaukee. Sacramento’s backcourt struggles to contain guards on the three-point line, surrendering four threes a piece to Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham in Monday’s meeting with Charlotte and five threes to Trae Young last Saturday against Atlanta. Not only are the odds great (+126), but in a game that Beal is likely to hoist over 20 shots, three triples seem well within reach.
Risk: 1 unit on DraftKings to win 1.26 units.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 12.5 Rebounds (+108)
Tonight’s Philadelphia 76ers-Milwaukee Bucks matchup headlines two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference. Both teams are in the top 10 in terms of their pace of play—Milwaukee ranks third at 101.8 and Philadelphia is close behind in seventh at 100.8. Philadelphia is on a back-to-back, after grinding out a tough fourth-quarter comeback against the New York Knicks. Milwaukee is coming off a day of rest following a stat-stuffing victory over the Washington Wizards. Philadelphia is 1-2 in their three back-to-backs this season, while Milwaukee has gone 12-9 off a day of rest, however, they've won their last six in this scenario.
Featuring a total of 236.0 points, with Milwaukee favored by 6.0 points, these teams both come into this meeting on their own respective win streaks (the Sixers have won six straight. the Bucks have won four in a row). With Joel Embiid out, I expect Milwaukee to come out aggressive early, looking to make a statement and push for the No. 1 seed in the East. In Antetokounmpo’s last six games against Ben Simmons, he is averaging 16.3 rebounds per game, while bettering 12.5 in each contest.
Risk: 1 unit on DraftKings to win 1.08 units.
PointsBet Player Props (March 17, 2021)
Tobias Harris Under 23.5 Points (-115)
Sticking with the Philadelphia 76ers-Milwaukee Bucks matchup, we look at Tobias Harris, who is coming of a big 30-point performance in which is proclaimed, “I’m an All-Star!” Well, Tobias, no, you weren’t—tonight against Milwaukee will prove why. This former first-rounder was actually traded to the Bucks on Draft Night back in 2011, only to be shipped to Orlando after two seasons in a package deal for J.J. Redick. This game has the feeling of a potential playoff matchup, so I'm anticipating both teams to ramp things up on defense.
As mentioned above, the total is set at 236.0 points, and I like the under in this one. Philadelphia is without their top scorer, Joel Embiid, leaving behind nearly 30 points per game at the center position. These minutes are being filled by the likes of Tony Bradley and Dwight Howard. Defensively, Milwaukee matches up really well with a 76ers team missing Embiid on the court, as they have the ability to throw multiple bodies at Harris and Simmons, while still contesting the three-point line with their wings and backcourt. Harris played 37 minutes last night but we can expect that number to be dialed back a bit in a back-to-back. In Tobias Harris’s last 10 games, he has failed to surpass a total of 23 points seven times. Harris has failed to score over 23 points in 22-of-23 career matchups versus Milwaukee.
Risk: 1.15 units on PointsBet to win 1 unit.
