2021 BMW Championship: Round 2 Matchups

With Thursday's opening round of the 2021 BMW Championship in the books, a litany of golf's best are stacking up the leaderboard. Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Sam Burns lead the way at 8-under par. Fifteen other players are within three shots of the lead, and there are only seven players who shot over-par. In fact, players torched Caves Valley to the tune of the average score being 2.8 strokes under par. Even with the humid conditions, the length of the course and a grueling playoff schedule to deal with, players should have tons of motivation. For some, a ticket to the Ryder Cup team is still on the line. For others, the goal is to finish this tournament inside the Top 30 and qualify for the Tour Championship next week. With the course still soft from the rain Hurricane Henri dropped over the weekend, players were allowed to lift, clean and place their golf balls. Weather and course conditions should be the same tomorrow.
