2021 BMW Championship: Round 3 Matchups
Having made all 16 of his putts from inside 12 feet, Bryson DeChambeau missed the one that would have placed him in the annals of single-round golf greatness. DeChambeau made eight birdies and two eagles to shoot a 12-under par 60 at the soft and accessible Caves Valley Golf Club. DeChambeau currently leads the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs by one shot at 16-under. He is one shot ahead of Patrick Cantlay, who had another tremendous putting performance and finished his round with a 63. He gained another five-plus strokes with his putter today, almost matching the six strokes he gained in round one. World No. 1 Jon Rahm is one shot back through 15 holes before play was suspended due to darkness. Fifteen players were still out on the course when the horn blew. They will complete their second round on Saturday morning, with players grouped in threesomes going off both sides for the third round. As we head into the weekend, it's looking to be a star-studded three-man race between DeChambeau, Cantlay and Rahm. As can be expected, there is no betting value on either of the three. Hopefully, some of you jumped on DeChambeau at +3500 when I posted it in the Discord on Tuesday morning. With the second round still needing to be completed, there won't be player groupings for round three until the morning. We will instead highlight some players to buy and fade in the section below.
