2021 Wyndham Championship: Round 2 Matchups
Going into the opening round of the Wyndham Championship, the golfing world knew Sedgefield Country Club was one of the easier courses in the annual PGA Tour rotation, averaging 1.3 shots under par per round over the past five events. However, after Thursday—wow. The average score dipped all the way to 1.7 shots under par, including an amazing 60 players shooting 3-under or better. That is with 21 players still on the course needing to finish tomorrow morning thanks to play being suspended due to darkness after a late afternoon weather delay. A majority of the leaders came from the morning wave where scoring averaged out at a full two shots under par. Russell Henley was part of this group and currently sits as the first-round leader, shooting an 8-under 62. Henley was one of my "First Round Leader" bets and he came through at +5000 for a nice 15-unit gain. He was on point in all areas of his game, gaining over two shots each ball-striking and putting.
