Waiver Wire Watch: Week 3
Injuries are an inescapable part of football and fantasy football. However, weeks like this, when the injuries are abundant, are a real drag on the return of our favorite sport. Here’s to wishing all of the injured players a speedy recovery, and all of our waiver claims to make it through. While not every injury looks likely to cost players games, a number of usable or high-upside players suffered semi-serious knocks in Week 2. The Waiver Wire Watch is a bit robust this week as a result, but it will be imperative to keep an eye on injury news as it trickles in before the initial waiver push, and later in the week as well. There are still plenty of other risers and valuable adds, though, so strap in and get ready to read.
Recommendations are based on a PPR-scoring, four-point passing touchdown, 12-team league, with roster percentages coming from Yahoo. Free agent budget recommendations are based on a standard $100 budget for the season. I try to mention when a player is a better streaming play (short-term/one-week starter) versus a long-term addition. Lastly, the great John Paulsen will edit this article every week and adjust rankings (and prices, starting next week), if necessary.
