Week 4 Betting Picks: Against The Spread
It has been hard out here in these betting streets for the last couple of weeks. After Week 2 brought us tough beats on the Eagles and Cardinals, Week 3 said “hold my beer.” It was just a 1-2 week and not an earth-shattering loss by any means, but the losing plays were once again hard to swallow. The significant beat was Raiders -3.5, as Las Vegas folded at the end of regulation. Despite the Raiders winning the game, we got hooked by the 3.5-point line. The entire game can be blamed on Foster Moreau for inexplicably stopping a route in the first quarter causing a pick-six. This changed the entire script of the game, but even then, the Raiders were covering until the last minute, fourth-down score leading to overtime.
The Patriots' play and outcome is not necessarily something to complain about, but certain plays were maddening and laughable. Go ahead and pull up footage of the Jameis Winston touchdown pass to Marquez Callaway. Then pull up footage of the Mac Jones pick-six intended for Jonnu Smith. I can guarantee nothing except that you will be left scratching your head.
Onto this week. Despite unspectacular results thus far, the games of the picks have played out as expected and the variance swing is coming our way. We have three picks this week and this is the best I have felt on a slate so far this season. Let’s get to them.
